They can put 15x periscope instead of that face id notch, also if they put little taptic engine instead of the big one they can put 1/1.3" inch sensor size without lowering the battery size. Under display fingerprint sensor doesn't take space at all.

I guess they want to still have the "high security" of FaceID mantained rather than replaced by a "Inferior" method of biometrics. 🤔

Of course they won't add that. Yet. They will sprinkle all the features we see on android phones so that they can have new features every year lol.

Ultra, if you don't like to Install protection ( glass protector) for your Samsung flagship then you are very careful with your phones. If you ask me, every time I buy new phones first thing I do is install all protection I can to save me money in the long run ( even though I'm very careful with my gadgets ( never even one since s7 I ever break one phone screen. Because I always protect them with case,glass front screen, and back, and even glass on back camera. So once I sell it later, I will have more value than others :) because is in mint condition

The in-display is by far the best location for this. It's ambidextrous and the ultrasonic reader Samsung uses is extremely accurate, no matter what angle I unlock it from. That's extremely useful when I want to unlock the phone without picking it up from the table.

My s21 is perfect screen but they remove the memory card slot 😬 hope other oem will think about this side mounted finger print soon. It is better than indisplay

Rear fingerprint works pretty well, but it is too ugly.
And logo would be too small to be seen by everyone around, which is the purpose the those dumb cases with the cutout.

Not gonna hate them for that. I like FaceID despite pandemic and everyone hating on it coz of that. If they can put it under display, that would be cool too.

If I will ask, i hate in display finger print sensor. Is not accurate. I had Samsung note 10, s21. I don't bother using it. I rather use the side mounted power button finger print sensor. It is very smooth and fast accurate! My realme 6, is still the best finger print side button I ever use, hope apple and Samsung implement this on they're flagship phones too. Or.give option to they're customers, one with in display and other side mounted finger print. Then they will find out customer will prefer side mounted than in display version :)🙂

for years i've wondered why they're not making the apple logo into a fingerprint reader, since most of their users are using cases with cutout right where the logo is to show off.

And the surface area of the Ultra sonic sensor underneath the display is getting bigger and bigger each year.
