"Break the world news"... moreYou were right on some points except....We had amazing phones before iphone, phones were already advancing, phones were already going to touch screen and smartphone. Apple was just among the early and stupid people flock for apple. So we would still have much without them. Though they obviously helped with popularity. Plus its all mostly illegal copies or bought copies that make iphone. So sadly fans do a lot...plus what does Nokia have to do with proof that fan base means nothing. It obviously means somehing....and unlike Apple Nokia has innovated and invented many things and is known for actual quality and endurance and still have many people.

Terry, 11 Nov 2012My personal thought is Apple intent to close the open litig... moreget real, they will drop all lawsuits they have pull, they are losing costumers because of that, no one wants to have a phone form a loser company, such apple....they just realized that now. they will cut deal with samsung and google to, they have to do netter products, not this shits one they have made

that i saw it coming, apple is lossing the isuing issue, so "its better cutt a deal, pay then what they want and stop it before we lose more coustemrs, that we already have" cook finally took his sanaty pill. now they they will cut a deal with samsung and google...

its a small Victory for Apple after a lot of losts and losts to come..
Nokia and Motorla and one of the biggest Patent company out there..
and now that Google bought the Patents of Motorola lets see how much Apple is going to lose money and me hopeing a lot!!! :)

I'm sure the 1st cell phone broke world news to and today the average person wouldnt even know the name of the company that invented it.
Yes every but Apple has made vast improvements over the original iPhone, matter of fact I take that back. Even Apple has made vast improvements bcuz unlike u they know that they have to. All flagship phones of 2011 were wayyy better than the original iphone. Smartphones have gained so many new uses since then we have projector phones, phones that can control ur computer from a remote place, phones that run console games and can substitute for a Nintendo or PS2, phones that can be used as universal remotes, phones that u can point at the sky and it identifies constellations and the list goes on.
just about EVERY other manufaturer has produced a flagship phone this year that not even the iph5 can compare to, but is can compete bcuz it has an Apple on the back and a gr8 reputation(regardless of whether it holds up to that rep)
the truth is, if Apple doesnt start making better improvements on their devices while the competitors are trying their best to improve with every device then all Apple will have goin for them is their fan base. and as we witnessed with Nokia, fan bases are only so useful.
if you think the original iph is so great then 4get the iph5 cuz like u said "Do any of the phones now REALLY do anything that much better? Yeah nicer screen, faster, different comms.. but have any changed the way we use them - REALLY? No." if the whole world shared u view then Apple and Sammy wouldnt be breaking sales records cuz every1 would just stick to the phone they have.
dont get me wrong, I thank Apple for creating the original iph and the iph4, without them we wouldnt have all these other great devices. altho since google was already working on anddroid then we would most likely still have a lot of other things and Nokia would most likely still b in a shit hole.

My personal thought is Apple intent to close the open litigation case with smaller Android competitors. So that they can focus resources on Samsung, Motorola and Google.

This makes sense. Apple is now using LTE technology and Samsung has already filed a patent infringement suit and it was rumored that HTC was going to as well. Both Samsung and HTC hold a lot of patents relating to LTE technology. So now Apple has access to those and it means the Samsung lawsuit will go nowhere. This just allows Apple to continue their war with Samsung from a better position. NOT GOOD!

Apple still is a makret giant, they continue to sell good products, and by no way compared with the rest of the market are anything but a leader along with Samsung.
I can understand if you say something like Nokia has lost it.. cause they have. but Apple? Get real buddy.. next. :/
