People here don't know how to take a joke. Every thing seems to offend them or sounds hypocritical to them. Companies will attack each other like political ads.

I do miss Jony Ive. Peak design of the iPhone was from 2010-2013. The iPhone X is nice but it just didn't have Steve Jobs' influence. Jony should get as much credit for Apple's comeback as SJ's. He came up with amazing designs from 1997-2013.

I sold my iPhone 12 mini but kept the 4S I got for only $20 and it's still in excellent condition. I believe the 4S looks better than the 12 mini. Shows how well the iPhone 4 series design aged. Steve and Jony influence all over it. Beautiful like a Leica camera. My favorite is the 5S/SE1 design. SE1 is still my favorite iPhone ever.

    For years, Apple mocked Android. So you think Google was going to sit back and take that? It's not even that malicious. Just took a shot at Jony Ive who no longer works for Apple.

    Even Samsung's Next Big Thing ads back in 2012 with the Galaxy S III weren't that malicious. They were spoofing Apple fans lining up and they were great. Pissed off Apple employees especially Phil Schiller.

    Jony Ive always looked like he was ready to cry in those iPhone introductions. Watch iPhone 4 through 6, and it looks like he's ready to cry.

    The best ads actually came from Microsoft / Nokia back in 2012.

        The ad is not even about the headphone jack so the hypocrisy statements don't make sense. We know Google's flagships no longer has a headphone jack. The point of the ad was to parody Jony Ive.

        Again, lighten up. Ads are just ads. They're not supposed to be truthful.

          so much hype, so much fanfare, for a phone that brings nothing new to the table, does not sell and does not make a profit, what a shame

            I don't think Google realizes almost every midrange phone comes with a headphone jack so flaunting about having a headphone jack on a midrange phone (arguably upper midrange for the US/Japan) doesn't really make the inclusion of one surprising. If they did this with the 6/6 Pro instead of the 5a, it'd be completely different
