salamander, 14 Nov 2012Google is going the same path as the other companies. They ... moreIt's not that they don't want to it's the fact that the hardware doesn't support the latest software. They could try to integrate it but then we will see user saying that the previous versions of the software ran smoothly and now it's sluggish at best. I think the main drawback in older mobiles is the limited amount of RAM, it's like on a computer you can speed it up by adding some RAM.

Android in the start blame symbian for having no software update.
and said that android is upgradable so that you get new features in every update.
Android is saturated just like symbian at v3.

Google is going the same path as the other companies. They will "support" new SW releases for a phone for 1 to 2 years and than drop it. That's not so nice. You just get the latest SW quickly from them... that's about it.
Another nice thing in the nexus lineup is gone.

Android 4.1.2 is already available for Xoom devices with Nexus S stable build being posted this week - all in the form of final release of CyanogenMod 10 ('stock android on drugs').
It'll take a bit of work till v4.2 will be merged to CM10 tree (if it won't become CM10.1) - but that means both of devices will get JellyBean 4.2 maybe even this month...
kudos to open source and big thanks to CyanogenMod team for supporting around 100+ of devices with the latest Android version (both officially and not)
