I've followed the mobile industry long enough and the conclusion is there is no perfect phone or perfect company out there. Some companies might be great for a little awhile before an eventual decline in quality.

Apple, Samsung, Google, they all have their quirks. I know this site are filled with haters for those three companies and may pom-pom Xiaomi or Sony, but they all have flaws. I've considered Pixel 5, Razr 5G, Surface Duo, and Fold 3 and they each present certain flaws I don't want.

No to iPhone. Apple keeps milking the Lightning cable and iOS hasn't really changed since 2013. I hate Face ID. I updated my 12 mini to 14.2.1 to 14.6 to 14.7 to 14.7.1. Killed my battery life even after a fresh restore. And it's amazing now iPads uses USB-C and has split screen capability for many years but iPhones do not.

Apple is overrated. I tried to like them again but they're the same they've always been since the first iPhone.

Pixel 3 XL is probably the ugliest phone made.

Shadocx, 06 Sep 2021If that's true then there's no point in getting a... moreGawd, no. Every time I get an Apple product, I'll love it at first and then eventually HATE it. Updates are overrated.

Sold my 12 mini because it would longer sync to my MacBook Air. Restored it twice and nothing. I also hate Face ID especially since I still wear a mask to go outside. Then sold my Apple Watch Series 2 the other day because the lower right button started getting stuck. Hard for me to get into my Apple Pay.

If the Pixel line eventually becomes defunct because Google doesn't seem to be great at QC, I would have no choice but go to Samsung and I hate their bloat. My Flip 3 is cool but it isn't all that. I still enjoy my Pixel 3 more for the better camera and software experience. It's also just a hassle opening the phone to do stuff. While the Fold 3 is way more practical but also thick and heavy to carry with you.

Adrenalin, 06 Sep 2021As a pixel 3xl owner this is very concerning...nice try Goo... moreThat is why you have to give until January 2022 to see what the previous problems that pixel 6 will have.

I don't have this issue... yet. But if it happens, then no plans to buy another Pixel. I updated to Android 10 and then downgraded back to 9 a week later because 10 broke some apps and killed battery life by 15% even after a fresh restore. My security update is from August 2018. The first version of Pie. I get the white flashing bug once in a while but it's rare.

My only other experience with a Pixel is the first gen but I only had it for 6 months. That didn't give me much issues except the fingerprint scanner and charging were a tad slow. I believe Google should just open more retail stores so us Pixel owners to have somewhere we can go to to have them fixed.

This sucks for the people who have this issue. Could happen to me eventually. I don't update it and I don't root it but it could happen to me. We'll see. If it does, my Essential Phone gets elevated to #1 favorite. It has its early issues but that thing has been solid as a rock for a 2017 device.

When you plan ahead so the planned obsolescence hit after the Pixel 6 release, but you didn't anticipate chip shortage and global pandemic to delay its launch.

Google Pixel 3 is my favorite smartphone of all-time. It's the 128 GB matte black non-XL model. My only issues comes from when it would randomly shut off during hot days. It would tell me because the temperature is getting hot but inside my car, it wasn't that hot. It's no longer an issue since I retired it next to my Essential Phone.

This article copied Android Police nearly verbatim. And that was posted on AP like 3 days ago.
