Macaulay Culkin, 08 Sep 2021Back in 2011, Nokia was still #1 in global market share. Th... moreGoogle makes a lot of money from iPhone users who use its services. If it discontinued providing them a significant portion of these users would switch to similar services provided by Apple (such as Apple Maps) or search through bing or duck duck go. Sure some users would switch to Android but obviously not enough or google would have done what you suggest.
Competition is good. Without iOS would Android innovate anymore? The big two mobile systems drive each other forward.

Back in 2011, Nokia was still #1 in global market share. Then two years later, they are swallowed up by Microsoft.

Back in 2009, Research In Motion was #1 in North America. Then four years later, they were pretty much dead once BB10 was released.

Apple is riding high right now but it doesn't take long to experience a major collapse. The market is volatile and fickle. Samsung and Google must try to defeat Apple by being closed off and exclusive like Apple is.

I've used iOS and Android for a very long time now. I know their strengths and weaknesses for awhile now. Heck, I'm typing from my iPhone SE 2016 right now. I still need an iPhone to message my fam. But if Google and Samsung want to defeat Apple, they must stop sharing their wealth of services and manufacturing for them.

Trust me on this, if Google removes YouTube and GMaps, many iPhone users will flock to Android. No choice. I never understood why Google keeps providing apps for iOS users? Pretty stupid from Google if you ask me. Helping your competitor while Apple is ruthless and selfish and raking in the most mobile profits over everyone. Apple users are glib. They assume Apple invented everything when all they did was copy. Everyone copies though.

2021 Android killer is coming. The iPhone will outsell 100% of any Android phone. The only Android that will be at the bottom of the top 10 phones will be a Chinese one for 100 dollars. I know, it hurts.

If Google and Samsung want to defeat Apple....

Google must not provide official apps for Apple. Remove YouTube, Google Maps, Gmail, Google Photos, Google Voice from Apple's App Store. Be closed and selfish like Apple. Don't share your services with them.

Samsung must never manufacture foldable displays for Apple. So Apple will be stuck with boring slabs for years or must find another display manufacturer to provide for them. Samsung should only manufacture foldable displays for themselves and for other Android OEMs.

Google must also provide a service that's like iMessages but for all Android users. Yes, Google Chat AKA RCS Messaging is like this. But make it better. Have one hub for all messaging apps. Like you can still get WhatsApp and FB Messenger messages from this app. Duo isn't overtaking FaceTime any time soon.

Apple just ripped off BlackBerry Messenger and called video calling FaceTime. I don't understand why Google takes so long matching those services? Google screws up all the time with them. Remember Hangouts?

Good thing apple has waited for 120hz technology to mature and to implement it to their iPhones. Apple always does it better, 120hz on iPhone = 240 on Android 😤😤. Hopefully the pause and resume video recording technology matures enough so they can implement it on their iPhones as well. Also I never lie.

Let's see what they have to offer.

A new IPhone with a redesign camera bump. And oh! It comes in new color. Tim's White.

              What about the performance?
Nothing even comes close to it.
              Don't make me cringe 🤮🤮🤮

Meet what should've been the iphone 12 pro from the start, a smaller notch and high refresh rate.

ah the first iphone that will support revolutionary 120hz display

                    [deleted post]You are not smart

If you saw Ready Player One (2018), you saw rollable tablets. They were rolled out like a scroll. They movie is based in 2045. We could have rollable tablets by this decade. In 30 years, maybe our communication tech will be like Minority Report (2002) or even like J.A.R.V.I.S in Iron Man.

If you don't want to fall into a phone addiction like I've had since 2004, don't follow TechTubers. Don't be materialistic. Save money. Phones are just "portals" to go online. If you think about it, a slab smartphone and a foldable smartphone do the same exact things. The excitement from foldables is mostly superficial.

As for me, bring it! Gadgets are my only vice but it will make me broke for sure like gambling and women. I love innovation. Something Apple hasn't been doing for nearly half a decade.

Android user by 2024: More practical, tri-fold or rollable?
iPhone user by 2024: Hey, which color iPhone should get?

                        🤣

Tri-fold seems better for tent mode. I can watch videos on either side of the device. It's like oragami tech. But rollable is creaseless and seems more seamless but has more electronic moving parts which will wear out faster than hinges on flips and folds.

By the time Apple's releases a tri-fold or rollable, we will all be over a decade older. They're becoming like Nokia and Research In Motion (BlackBerry) over a decade ago. Resting on their laurels. Moving at a snail's pace. And neither iOS and Android were really built to work on foldables. Takes time to optimize apps for them.

Samsung and Google will be so ahead in software optimization by the time an iPhone Flip is released. And I don't believe flip phones is the right path for foldables. It's the one the Fold 3 does or even Surface Duo. Way more practical. Better multitasking UI.

My Flip 3 is just a nostalgia trip for me. It's a fashionista phone like the original Motorola RAZR V3 was. I would trade my Flip 3 for a Fold 3 straight up in a heartbeat.

Ohi, 07 Sep 2021New bionic chip, Destroying competition as alwaysSomehow it can't have 2 or more apps open at the same time or run a desktop enviroment.
                          Very powerful lol.

The iPhone has looked the same since 2017. Just different backs and camera arrangements. Different colors and sizes. Perhaps different frame. And iOS hasn't changed much since 2013 while Android was revamped in 2011, 2014, 2018, and again in 2021. If you enjoy buying the same thing over and over, go get your iPhone 13 Pro Max and let it bore you for the next few more years.

I prefer Google over Samsung because I prefer their software and computational photography more. But Samsung will dominate this decade. They're the ones making these foldable displays. The only one of the major companies that's still innovating. Google and Apple just sit still. But it's great that Google is entering foldables THIS year.

Wait for the Pixel Fold codenamed Passport. I trust sources from Jon Prosser. Google will shock the tech world at the ends of this year. It's this year's best kept secret. Pixel Fold will marry Samsung's hardware expertise with Google's software expertise. But within a year, Pixel Fold will feel very outdated. It can only fold once. Not twice like that TCL device. Has a crease that the Oppo rollable won't have.

No such thing as trying to "future proof" right now. We really can't predict it. Any thing can happen even in just 6 months time. Just expect that your $1800 Fold 3 and my $1000 Flip 3 will feel very outdated very soon. We're still in Phase 1, the worst stage of adopting new tech.

Ohi, 07 Sep 2021New bionic chip, Destroying competition as alwaysApple can't destroy latest Snapdragon. It will be slower and more slower when throttling.

I was WRONG on one thing. I believed we could buy a phone and not upgrade for another 5 years. Only upgrade twice per decade. Thought we already hit the maturity and saturation stage. Nope.

Many of us tech nerds will change to a new phone every 6 months with all the new innovative form factors that will be released these next 3-5 years. There is going too many new form factors headed our way. Some coming from left field.

TechTubers are going to end up broke buying all these Phase 1 foldables. Be like the early 2010s all over again. Buying at least two phones yearly will be common.

My Flip 3 is like owning the iPhone 2G or 3GS when I could've waited for the 4S and 5S. Or Nexus One when I could've waited for the 4 or 5. My Flip 3 will be outdated within a year.

The Fold 3, Pixel 3, and Flip 3 are just "appetizers" for much better foldables in the future. We are returning to the 2007-2013 innovation era when each year felt an upgrade. When 2007 iPhone 2G felt like PS1 graphics and 2013 iPhone 5S was already PS2. We felt that jump in improvements.

Ohi, 07 Sep 2021New bionic chip, Destroying competition as alwaysNo it doesn't.

-Trix-, 07 Sep 2021Clearly they are ahead in things which matter, just saying.Like removing things? Now we sell cameras separately.

I'm seeing these tri-fold concepts and even the rollable displays on YouTube. The Flip 3 and Fold 3 look outdated by comparison already! Even the Pixel Fold which hadn't been released yet feels outdated.

Top 3 Best Phones Of 2021
                                        1. Google Pixel Fold
                                        2. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3
                                        3. Microsoft Surface Duo 2

No boring slab. No iPhone. No Pixel 6 Pro.

The future of phones is heading to foldables. If Google is entering foldables by Year 3, Apple better get moving or they'll get left in the dust like Nokia and RIM did 14 years ago not adjusting to touchscreens fast enough.
