This is also not the limit as we know 600mp is on the way in near future, try not to be too skeptical, what will you do when that comes...

        50MP is the best spot for binning imo, it's still a high MP count and enough to use bigger pixels.

                      Perhaps interesting: the "Kodak" camera isn't, it is a Kodak badged German design as were, I think, all the Retinas.
                      Badge engineering was a thing many years ago, nothing has changed.

                                  There is a lot of distortion happening on sides when using wide lens. People start to look elongated, limbs, fingers look funny.

                                    Other are not using because they do not want want to give on Ultra Wide and "Zoom" to have space enough for 1" ..

                                    1" is pixel area. Then there is the "frame" of the sensor, that grows up proportionally as sensor goes bigger.

                                    If you check photos of Aquos R6 sensor, you can see frame is larger than pixel area.
