gilbs, 21 Nov 2012It's not new, but brilliant. Just two quad-core processors... moreWell said. The other fanboys fighting silly.
I'm not targetting anybody whether it may be iFan or SammyFan boys. If you say iPhone performance is
fast, then you should be glad to have such wonderful SOCs made by Samsung. Otherwise iPhone will not
be faster. If you are comparing iPhone with Droids, it's mistake. The OS of iPhone is like a Parrot House.
The house looks good and beautiful. Where as Android is like a Forest. There are many things, some features
will be good and some are bad and some are "Brilliant".

Those 8 core will never be use!
Software will never link those core.
Dev will never worked out those core in a random hardware settings (on all androids device).
And do we need more? No.
Its for a few people that has too much time on their hands, and would like to overclock thier toy!
What Sammy should have done is release faster memory chip for phone/tablet. The current is far too slow. Slower than USB1.
Transfer 700mb from internal to PC, takes 35mins!
32GB it will take a whole day, actually the slowest part in every phone is it slow aging RAM and memory chip!
CPU can stood still for 2 or 3 years.
But RAM and memory chip should advance out.
You sure want 8 core at USB1 speed?
or
You want 2 core at USB3 speed?
Sammy go for CPU instead... Booo

It's not new, but brilliant. Just two quad-core processors: 1 high-performance and 1 low-power packed into one (=8-cores) to maximize space. Dual quad-core processors can be found in the PC world, so it's only a matter of time they reach mobile devices.

say NO to change!, 21 Nov 2012With this 8 core, might par with iPhone5! Even iPhone4s is... morehaha you are funny... about CPU/GPU wise. apple's Processors are slower thn samsung Exynos. they look faster because they are using different OS platform as Android. if iphone's hard ware tested with android, you will see clearly the performance of Apple's A5/A6 APU

And android still won't utilize multiple cores efficiently.
I'd rather see a dual core a high max frequency (2ghz+) rather than quad/octo core chips since android rarely/never uses other cores. End result w/ quad cores is android is slower because the octo core chips tend to be slower on a per-core basis.

Even iPhone4s is... moreActually, Apple is zero in CPU/GPU. It's Samsung, ARM and PowerVR that makes CPUs and GPUs for Apple.
Speaking of comparison between iPhone 4S and SGS III.
iPhone 4S has dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 CPU clocked at 1GHz
SGS III has quad-core ARM Cortex-A9 CPU clocked at 1,4GHz
It's 2,8 times more performant.
Even iPhone 5 is less performant than SGS III with dual-core customized ARMv7 CPU clocked at 1,2 GHz (analog to Qualcomm Krait)

Apple make iphone 5 not to have best hardware, they only focus on things that matters to general people! not for geeks who look at specs!

Even iPhone4s is faster than SGS3. So what you might think 8 core can outperform iPhone5?
Sammy will need 12 shit cheap core to par iPhone5!
Apple are years ahead in CPU/GPU chips!!
Even iPad3 has gfx better than xbox360, higher res and sharper visual. Faster load time and all!
With the new newer iPad(4), they're years ahead in competition. Oh btw did you hear about the next PowerVR that is 60 times faster than the current one? Kills Xbox720 or xbox1080!!

Whats next next year 16 cores?
Seriously that's an overkill for a phone.
Desktop PC's are still sticking to quadcore procie's for several years now.
I think this is the only area that Samsung are good at, more cores and rams. lol

I still feel battery life is the most important, followed by storage. As i see most ppl use their phone for media, sms and call.
Current cpu/gpu/ram is more then enough to power current application .. even single core can also.
Focus more on built quality, look and feel and battery!
