This is why people need to stop bragging about if iphone lasts more than phones with high resolution screen.
It obviously gonna make huge difference.
QHD 20:9 phones have near 30% more pixels to push than iphone.

In lot of cases its the parents that pay the bill for their teenage children. If it would be up to the children it would be pro max 9/10.

A god, 21 Sep 2021XZ1 Compact it was perfect with good battery life...probabl... moreI used to love Sony's Compact line, but the XZ1C had a 720p, 60Hz LCD. A Snapdragon 888 would drain that 2700mAh battery in no time, compared to a SD835. As I said, there are compromises that Android phones need to make for such small phones. I, for one wouldn't buy a phone without a flagship or almost flagship (think SD860/870) SoC, at least a 90Hz, FullHD OLED, and iPhone Mini comparable battery life, which at that size would be difficult to achieve for an Android. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think that anything less than that would sell very well and I suppose that's why no one bothers to do it anymore. The S10e didn't sell that well and even Apple is dropping the Mini next year if rumours are to be believed. A case could be made for the Z Flip 3 but it costs a lot more, because of its form factor, and personally, I'm not a fan of plastic screens; but it's most likely what the future holds as far as truly compact phones go.
Honestly, I find the size of something like the Zenfone 8 very comfortable and perfectly pocketable, while still retaining top specs. Until more efficient SoCs and/or batteries come along, smaller Android flagships would still need to make some sort of compromise in order to have decent battery life.

The smaller size is welcome but Samsung needs to fix their awful haptics on the vanilla model, the feedback is really bad. Maybe it's not a dealbreaker for many, but after getting used to great haptic feedback, I can't go back to something as weak and loose as what Samsung is offering.

Android simply isn't as battery efficient, unfortunately. There would have to be some sort of compromise, like no HRR, lower resolution, etc. Maybe they could pull it off with a midrange SoC but I don't see them going down that route.

The iphone 12 is more popular because it is the least expensive option, considering the low demand for mini.
Even if Pro Max was 7" , still would outsell Pro.
Everything done on larger phone is easier and better (watching videos, texting, playing games, editing photos, reading news, viewing photos).

I understand the chin but sheesh my X7 Max probably has a slimmer forehead.
But yeah anything around that size is an absolute dream for me as I had to reluctantly upgrade from my compact Z2 Plus

happy that samsung still listens to customers with smaller size options, also sony. rest of the android flagships are all one size huge devices. it's a pity that, they give no choice to customers. android is all about flexibility and options but, OEMs provide no choice at all. not to forget that, 40% of iphone sales are smaller variants(non-max models). so, smaller flagship is a huge market demand.
