I am a heavy gamer charging my phones sometimes twice a day and my Mi 11 lite 5G is still at 97% after 3 months.
Try to game 4-8 hours ion apple phone a day and you get maybe 50% after year because apple phones are the worst gaming phones ever made.

[deleted post]It would suit you to explain him/her the truth then.
Just shouting "you live in your own lie" doesn't tell the one why, it makes the one shouting it less credible.

Ah, I forgot that this is not how batteries actually work and that this will still cause massive degradation. Just sit back while they figure out glass/graphene batteries. Hydro-Quebec plans to commercialize glass batteries in a year or two and that will be a game-changer.

Also think having to charge from 0% is not great idea for battery with current tech.

It's not bad charging, it's not good charging, it's the wrong battery tech. We need that 1000W flash charge to 101% without waiting.
Easiest way is to have bigger battery and cap the top so fast "full charge" at 70% is visible as 100%, but still enough to boast good endurance on tests or real life.

AnonD-492870, 25 Sep 2021At least they won't have any battery lawsuits for the ... moreBecause LG is the only brand that had issues with their phones.
I remember having iPhone 4 and oh boy I hated the fact that holding the phone "wrong" killed my signal.
And don't let me start about the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco....
Every brand has made mistakes, every one of them.
The difference is in how bad they were and how they handled them, LG did that very poor in my opinion.
Also the LG G8S doesn't have such issues, LG G4, G5, V10 and Nexus 5X for example did.

George399, 25 Sep 2021Seems that you don't like to read the truth. Shame. And this is what I mean, the moment somebody doesn't share ones opinion here you automatically are a "fanboy" or "don't want to see the truth"
Each to their own again, I don't need 120watt charging because I charge my phone at night, I prefer battery longevity and good battery life instead, because I am often away from a power outlet for a long time, and most places like trains or cafes in my country only provide USB charging, which is so unbearably slow you could call it useless.
Maybe if we were back in the times when you could swap your battery on the go I would care more about charging speed, because then I could just swap my battery and if my battery would have poor health after a while, changing it would be super easy.
But that time is long behind us, companies do as much they can to generate sales, especially the ones with lower margins so you buy their products preferably each year.
And then it would work out fine...
But oh well I "don't want to see the truth" is it? Sure if that is your opinion that is fine, but don't state it like a fact because that's not the case.

Mikey, 25 Sep 2021Apple is more like Sony in this regard, battery health firs... moreMy LG charges with 18 watts and after 2 years the battery health is 97%
But oh well most people commenting here will automatically call you a apple fanboy (because they ignore for their own convenience other brands not going for ridiculously fast charging) even if you don't even have one but instead a LG, Sony or maybe even a Samsung.
GSMArena comment section in a nutshell, each to their own but calling out people because you tell the truth and do not share their opinion is childish, because I and many other people don't tell them to avoid or not use fast charging on their phones, if I would get a Xiaomi 11T Pro then I would use my old 18watt charger, but I would never say everyone must do that too, use whatever you like and respect other people their opinions and preferences.
But no no no, if you don't agree with them the must call you out and call you whatever they think you are, no matter if true or not.
Not to mention 99% of the time they don't even read the whole comment but automatically act like a keyboard knight...

Fools here talking about battery life. They don't know about the charge algorithms and cells quality. They just just keep kissing apples feet for selling expensive crap. Nice InNovATiOn with those 20w, apple doesn't care because their stupid costumers will buy it anyways.

Charging time under 2 hours is OK. What really matters is Battery life.
Another setup I would like to have is to say "I want only charging to e.g. 70%".
I am not against fast (I mean FAST) charging, but in the end: 18 min or 30 min is not a big deal.

Anonymous, 25 Sep 2021Who said you have to charge at 40W?People are gonna use the charger provided.
Not everyone has extra chargers or wants to get new one.
If chinese brands want to brag about charging speed, should at least admit the downside of it and warn users, not keep fooling them.
