I still use my One M8 EYE. Rare thing for smartphones these days to remain functional for 7 years. And build quality was superb, especially for the time that most other brands' flagships bodies were plastic.

I had the m7 and absolutely loved it. It was such a great phone at the time and beautiful. I upgraded to the m9 and it wasn't as great, it would get SO HOT!

The full metal body of this phone was amazing. It was usable without a case and felt amazing in the hand

Honestly, the U11 looked so sexy, but then HTC jumped on the dumb "brave" change that iPhone 7 introduced.

I have in fact only just two weeks ago stopped using my HTC M8 - jumping in and getting a new iPhone 13 Pro - really enjoyed my ole HTC. It felt like an indestructible tank and it became a point of pride to see how long I could make it last. I am aiming to see if I can keep this apple job just as long.

Really can't use phones with only 2GB RAM these days. Some apps may no longer work. My LG G5 on Nougat (2016) can no longer download apps from the Play Store.
The BoomSound from my M7 was never that loud. Never had interest in the M9. Snapdragon 810 ruined a lot of 2015 flagships. The M9 has been bashed like the LG G5 and Pixel 4.
Dying sealed batteries, app incompatibility, and the need for more RAM is what keeps us upgrading every few years.

I used to like HTC and have had several of them. Even had a Windows mobile HTC, it used to crash in the middle of calls, or when answering or making calls, and just crashed in general :) But it was cutting edge back then :)

I had bought several htc phones. Htc wildfire, evo 3D, M8 and then U Ultra. I was satisfied with most of them.

While M8 was a good and interesting phone, the HTC 10 was the pinnacle of their capabilities. Really an amazing device, overshadowed only by its above average price and mediocre screen. Unfortunately, instead of improving upon it, HTC released U11, which was the nail to their coffin.
Shame.

Under the agreement, I'm sure there is a non competitive clause. Understandable. But I would dearly love to see HTC back in the arena with a renewed punch of vitality. I enjoyed the A 9.

God, I loved this phone. Had the M8 H/K edition with those powerful speakers, powerful DAC, microSD card, and gorgeous uni-metal body. I'd give anything for a One Max reissue with updated specs but the same body and look (even the 16:9 aspect ratio by increasing the size to 6.2 or something).
Even if HTC were to use the upcoming Dimensity processors, it'd be nice for them to replace LG here in the states.

Numbers 1 through 3 seems to be the best in movies, video games, and even in tech. Although tech can stretch out higher since tech always improves every year. Think automobiles.
I still think peak iPhone happened in the 4 and 5 series (4th to 7th gen) with the best version of that coming from the SE 1. Wish companies just revived designs from 7 to 15 years ago. To use a rebooted Razr in 2021 with modern specs is pretty mind-blowing. Wish they rebooted the HTC One M7.

Best phone, slim all metal body, beautiful display, good camera, best front speakers, boom sound, Htc phones is so full with innovation. Very sad Htc not stay in the game.
