YUKI93, 05 Oct 2021Lop please, how Linux is more secure? If anything, that is ... moreYou're right. Linux distributions are actually less secure with the exception being ChromeOS or maybe cloudready. QubesOS is not a Linux distribution. Linux distributions have the advantage that they're less targetted.

Every other requirement is fulfilled (it's a proper enterprise laptop, it has TPM 2.0), but W11 does not install because the CPU version is blocked -- only Intel 8th gen and up (or the very few 7th gen Intel CPUs that were whitelisted).

Bummer, it's still a quite capable machine that should remain in service for quite some years.

Will install upcoming windows 10 21H2 instead. My laptop doesn't support windows 11. And it is better to wait for next version as the first release can be buggy and incomplete.

I have Win 11 beta currently. Can I shift to the stable version. If yes, how?

can't wait to try Android Apps (I know it's from amazon app store note the google), but if there will be native apk support, wow!

Anonymous, 05 Oct 2021I have everything but intel i5 7th gen :(You can install it from ISO (official Microsoft website), but, You have to update it manually with every update release.
because auto-update is for recommended hardware.

It’s funny how my 2014 Acer laptop isn’t supported 😅 For the sake of fun I did the regedit installation on another Acer I have in hand which is core duo 4 GB of RAM from 2009 and yeah it’s working like a charm but I ain’t gonna do it on my main laptop coz I have plenty of stuff on it and it’s genuine windows 10 so . Thanks MS for that TPM bs . I always wanted to move on MacBooks and u already given me one more reason to do that 😌

all this whining... for the god's sake! it's a business and a product. it's like a pair of shoes: you like it and you can use it? you buy it. you don't ? well, do not buy it and look for the proper alternative, some of them free of charge. and the moaning, grunting and complaining about old machines... win 10 is going to be supported for the next 4 years, and this means plenty of time to put a dime on top of another dime and buy a new one in 2026. anyhow, at that time the systems that cannot be upgrade now to win 11 will be 7-8 years old.

Anonymous, 05 Oct 2021how ugly the ui is i rather stick with windows 10It looks quite elegant actually! My only annoyance with the Windows 11 update is the inability to show lables. and non expandable taskbar.

While for casual users the 5th generation i3/i5/i7 are INDEED powerful enough for most apps in Windows 11. there's a strong emphasis on gaming in there too.

Microsoft kills ecopolitics, because force people for upgrading older devices. Core i3, i5, i7 5th gen and newer are powerfull enough, so I don't understant stupid limitations od Win11.
