It lacks a lot of the more expensive anti-light bleed features the more expensive 12-BPP 108MP sensor has on the S21U. But yeah, if we take one number out of context it definitely sounds great. The same goes for the display it may or may not get. It looks like a cheaper display they're selling to OEMs, where some Chinese brand was the first to get it.

Main GN1 sensor is larger and better than HM3 on S21 Ultra, also camera bump makes sense for the camera array of larger sensor + periscope, plus it won't rock on a table and lastly it has nothing to do with Note 9 at all.
Don't be so bittersweet that Pixel will lead photography in phones segment.

Google is and was never competent in designing a phone.
It's samsung doing it for them but with cheaper parts.

Anonymous, 11 Oct 2021I would love to get this phone, but for more there are two ... morePixel 6 Pro will have solid camera sensors, except for Ultra-Wide which is tiny and outdated (still 1/2.9" on Pixel will be bigger than iPhone 13 Pro Max Ultra-Wide which is even more tiny 1/3.4"), if Google would of used at least 1/2" or even 1/2.55" it would of been perfect and I am not even talking about having a large high end Ultra-Wide sensor like OnePlus or Oppo or Huawei.

It kind of looks like this is a Google "drop" of Samsung leftovers. The processor is an unused Exynos, the display looks a lot like something that would have made it to the cheaper Galaxy Note model and the camera island hump is essentially an old Note 9 extended to the edge of the frame to "compensate" for the hump-ness.

Even 📷 often use same sensor for years. More than 1 generation.
There is no need to change every year.
A 12MP 1/2.6" from 2021 is not worth over a 12MP 1/2.6" from 2019 or 2018.
Samsung used to do this.
S7, S8, S9 and S10 all have different isocell/exmor.
Was pointless because the minimum different was due to newer ISP from each cpu generation.

I would love to get this phone, but for more there are two reason I won't be getting it.
I will never buy a phone with Mali GPU, never!!! Such crap performance, next years Pixel is expected to come with RDNA 2 GPU just like Exynos 2200.
Ancient sensor on wide Angle camera is an absolute joke,no matter how hard you try to justify.
So Pixel 7 it is then.
