So still slower charging than s20 ultra. Good job, Samsung. You are on the road to evolution!

Anonymous, 11 Oct 2021What a joke samsung, how hard is it. You don't even... moreYeah, on paper. Because you guys love big numbers. In reality, you first need a phone that supports it, then you need USB cable that can actually take 240W and lastly, you need a charger that no one supplies anymore with the phone. Good luck finding such charger and then not spending 80-100€ on it...

[deleted post]"Heavily committed iOS user". Committed so much I don't use ANY Apple or Google service, making me actually the LEAST committed iOS user. I'm probably more neutral than all of you on GSMArena combined. I can flip to Android this moment and only need 1 hour to configure it and migrate it all and have ZERO downsides, limitations or restrictions. That's how committed I am. Samsung was my first go to because of longest software support and being very responsive and not skipping security updates, but my god they made their flagship Galaxy S series utter crap with cheapening on things that matter to me. Namely, using plastics so extensively on a phone that costs so much, instantly making Galaxy S series entirely uninteresting for me. I sure as hell won't buy their oversized stupendously overpriced Ultra model just to have glass. I'll rather buy A50 series and not care if it's plastic coz it's so much cheaper anyway.

You know your charging speed is slow when iphones charge as fast or faster

Anonymous, 11 Oct 2021So, they turned lower end Galaxy S models into complete dog... moreActually replacing stupid glass backs with plastic is a positive.

"If Samsung sticks with 25W charging for yet another generation it risks falling way behind Android competitors, which are normally offering twice to three times the charging speeds and some even go as high as 125W."

So what? I charge overnight, so frankly 5W is fine, and better for battery longevity than a short burst of high current followed by thermal throttling. The 18W my current phone uses is quite fast enough for a top-up, and 125W is just "marketing by big numbers" rather than a real user benefit: if it doesn't drop that current dramatically after a minute or so it will be harming the battery (though if that sells more phones the manufacturer may see that as a positive).

Have you asked yourselves whether you ought to be promoting marketing gimmicks like this?

What a joke samsung, how hard is it.

You don't even have to try, just adopt USB PD technology, it has upto 240 W charging.

For an s22 with small battery size, it doesn't matter to have low charging speeds

So, they turned lower end Galaxy S models into complete dog poo. First they gave them plastic backs like they are some crappy $200 phones and now only the Ultra will get Exynos 2200 and the rest will get some crappified chipset?

so samsung quality can't protect battery health with fast charging? this makes chinese smartphones even more promising quality from low end to flagship at low prices.

                                25 watts in flagship Mobile???????
                                What is Samsung's board thinking?????

I'll wait until Samsung gives 45W wired charging to the vanilla and Plus variants as well. While I have never been a fan of three-digit wired charging, it would be nice to have at least around 40W to 60W. That, to me, sounds like a perfect balance.

I saw another report yesterday that Plus and Ultra are 45.
