          I have mentioned this several times, iPhone video quality that everybody talks about is good only in the day. At night, the weaknesses start to stand out.

          The big sensors on Android are crushing the iPhone video footage in sharpness, noise control and details.

          The only big sensor phone that the iPhone outperforms in low light video is the S21 Ultra.
          But the iPhone video footage in low light is behind the ones offered by Vivo, Huawei and MI flagships.

                  I can name at least 10 phones with better ioerall camera or vuideo quality.
                  My top picks would be Xiaomi Mi 11 ultra and Honor Magic 3 pro plus.
                  Those two cant be compared with anything you can name because its a lot worse camera and video device no matter what you try to do or say.

                    When comes to overall photo quality nothing beats M11 ultra.
                    When comes to both vdeo and photo quality there are at least 10 other phones which are way better than Samsung.
                    P50 series by Huawei, Honor magic phones, M11 T Pro, Sony Xepria phones, even apple is way better same goes for mate 40 pro.

                          Man Samsung is creepy.
                          We all know thatOneplus 9 pro with Hasselblad cameras or M11 ultra have a lot better cameras than Samsung.
                          Same goes for P50 series and Honor Magic 3 pro plus.
                          If they want worse movie i dont mind but there are plenty of a lot better cameras on a phone that could be used.
                          On a paper S21 is just bit better than average with its cameras.

Compare to the latest gh, maybe early next year. The Samsung is also one that probably does have descent 4k bit rate. I've seen pro video on other phones, not this one, and as good as it was over normal, it still lacked, trying to defect your ability to control all aspects of exposure more.

They can make better mirrorless with phone features of they want. But phone quality in video is often silly. I mean you get looks that a toddler might think is ok. A bigger lens and format changes the characteristics of the image, and can look better. The imitation of large lens on small sensor through computational photography has been terrible. It looks unnatural a lot in the past, and unsettling. They need to space multiple sensors out to pick up angles like a real large lens. The larger lens warp the image closer to what our brain does, and see around small features, because they are wider receiving areas. The apple cinematic mode was. It great. It needed a lens adaptor, and maybe not need a frosted one now, better codec, more datarate, higher but depth. I've seen much better samples out of the ProRes. The official footage of the third party app that is using the API, looks terrible, but somebody else did nice test footage.

                              What you need is a pro quality video mode with some good looks and sliders to change them. Most looks are not going matter, or be linear. Which means you can make a pro quality for the click generation, and incorporate the ability to simply change latter (window, Zoom, focus and dog, and looks and bokeh, a few buttons and sliders, and let the AI set the look during the filming, based on how you like it, and change if you want). The issue is, so little time and effort is devoted to video capture compared to the rest of the chipset, so you get low datarate, bit depth, 4:2:0 etc, and the bigger you project it, the worse it looks.

                                    yes I'm using CH, I know its better than global. This time Xiaomi did better with camera processing, but still trailing behind what's possible with gcam in low light. Different phone, actually! In daytime the differences are in colors, tones - details resolving is similar.
                                    3rd party for video is must - use mcpro24fps for example. Much better quality and controls than regular. But for point&shoot users native app should do fine.
                                    Seems that you're not reading my comment well - I did mention that using iphone there are no improvements over 3rd party and manual control.. :) iphone is gimmicky, but footage for regular user straight out of phone would be better than any android. It is what it is..

Even a cam ... moreComputational photography is achieving quality as close to these mirrorless cameras in most situations, even bettering them in certain conditions where you'll need long editing sessions to get anything useful out of your mirrorless camera.

                                      People prefer a convenient way to click great pictures without spending time to make those photos look perfect. That's for pros, not for normal consumers. Also smartphones have superior photo sharing features. Mirrorless will never surpass smartphones in that department.

                                      Don't forget... The best camera is the one in your pocket.
