What else were you expecting from a brand who literally jumped in the big 3 of the most stupid and contagious trends on smartphones :
*Punch hole/notch.
*No Jack.
*Curved edges on flagships.
All those three are already a big middle finger at customers.

Was a matter of time, however even if you could fix it yourself getting parts for a Pixel phone is more difficult than for a Samsung or a iPhone.
Anyhow that doesn't mean it is impossible, I find it bad that Google went this route.

Judging by some of the awful 3rd party repair vids on YouTube, I'm happy to have more blocks on third party repair.

This is why I deeply support Fairphone's right-to-repair initiative. Sure that most people complain about its rather steep price, but you don't pay the price solely for profit.

Google is no longer the Google I used to love. They're just another liberal elitist like Apple. I use their services because I need to.
I support Samsung now and I hated them for years. They have far better customer support. I'm not all-in on Motorola being they're owned by a Chinese company.

HahahaMaybe no average person might do it but there are many tech savvy people out there who tinker with their device like how one person equipped IPhone x with USB C and not only this it will also make 3rd party repairs more difficult so unless you live where Google officially sells their phones you better you a rugges case to protect your device

Well, that just means Google is required to swap the model fully, just like Apple. So instead of repair, the unit has to be replaced.
This is of course on malfunctioning hardware, and not user misuse/abuse.
