We put Realme's first laptop through its paces to find out if it's a worthy buy.

The Windows 11 update happened without a fuss on my Realme Book (Core i5) today. I think in India it is rolling out now. Initial impressions are good. Need to spend more time and then will provide my feedbacks.

    Now I remember way back I bought a MSI GTX 750Ti graphics card for my desktop which had two fans instead of one and touted to be very silent in operation even under load. And it was. So yes two fans system do not need to spin as fast as a single fan cooling system, thus producing less noise as the total heat is distributed to both.

        well, i disagree that 2 fans _always_ produce more noise than single one.
        in fact, if done right, they produce less noise because they can do same amount of cooling at twice lower RPM, so the resulting sound is much lower in pitch.

        does realme book have health battery charging like Asus or Lenovo Vantage charge threshold?

Two cooling fans give Realme Book (Core i5) a real edge in terms of thermal management as the pair is able to drive more heat away than single fan solution in most Ultra books.

          Also under severe stress most the heat is contained in the upper portion of the keyboard, so your hands never realizes the heat while using. Clever. There are some fan noise under severe stress after a long period of time, not alarming but two fans will always produce more noise than one. But if you are a casual user, you will never face it.

                  Anonymous, 24 Oct 2021What do you mean by "not giving specifications"? ... moreI meant not in reviews but also in brand section or homescreen like we get when new tabs or phones are published. For example when you go to some page you won't see any MacBooks or if you search a Microsoft surface laptop, you won't see it.

To me it is the overall package that matters most. Apart from specs, in my eyes a high quality laptop can be easily distinguished from a mainstream one by three distinguishing factors:

                              1) Design & overall build quality
                              2) Display quality
                              3) Keyboard & track-pad quality

                              In all above areas nothing can compete with Realme Book for the current price it is retailing for. During this festive season I had the Intel Core i5 variant for ₹45.3K ($601, €520) after card discounts even without doing any type of exchange. I cannot think of another Intel Evo certified laptop than this in $600 range.

                              Even if I wanted I could have got the Intel Core i3 variant for ₹34.6K ($459, €397) after card discounts without exchange. But internally i3 is a completely different laptop to i5 variant. For example in China only i5 variant is available. In short, i5 variant is the real Realme Book.

                              Using this laptop for over a week now and extremely satisfied. Fast, very good thermal management and excellent display. Not to mention the closest any laptop has gone to Apple MacBook in terms of keyboard quality. Even after running some heavy duty stuff and coding the laptop is rock solid.

                              In short I believe at $600 the Realme Book (Core i5) is the best buy as per my needs.
