Oppo looking to develop own in-house chipset for future flagships

It will apparently be based on TSMC's 3nm process and is expected to arrive in 2023.

    It makes sense for companies to design their own chipset to get the best out of their own hardware and software.

      I'm not sure if this is already well-known but from what I've seen is that OPPO acts more like R&D focused and the technology that they make is then trickled down to the other phone makers under BBK.

          Having a custom chipset is great, it means that we can see more competition. But I remembered Xiaomi dipped their hands with custom chipset business before and forgot about it completely soon afterwards.
