I mean I really do hope EMUI 12 is the global version of HarmonyOS, but if it is, shouldn't they atleast mentioned it either on the bootscreen or the about page? I don't see HarmonyOS been mentioned anywhere.

    Let's be real, whether HarmonyOS is based on Android or not is no longer important.

    What we are seeing now that it will never reach global market, especially with the release of EMUI 12 is further proof this point. Either they doesn't want to make it too obvious on the "rebranding" or they had abandoned the plan to penetrate the global market with their "new" OS.

      JustSomeRandomGuy, 22 Oct 2021HarmonyOS = just another Android skin that runs Android app... moreIt's already been proven. Huawei has stripped away every line of code in Android that they didn't need. The result is something like an iPhone; Despite a small battery, massive battery life.

      (I came from Technick's battery comparison video between a plethora of devices including the iPhone 13 Pro Max, Huawei P50 Pro, Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, and Samsung S21 Ultra. The iPhone and Huawei finished far ahead of the android phones.)

        150M Harmony OS devices ... and all of these devices are in China, aren't they?

                    No Google and a new life for my second mobile (Mate 20X). It don't get updates anymore, but will get a new life with the HarmonyOS.
