Well done. Jobs is turning in his grave.

Almand, 03 Nov 2021I wonder which port is more rigid? which port will get dama... moreLightning port is more prone to dirt and lightning cable is more prone to breaking.

USB-C port and cables are generally speaking the better option.

        Why no comments yet?

He just showed the world that if a nobody like him is able to do it, so will a billion dollar company with talented engineers. But of course, money talks haha. Stuff like climate change/environmental awareness are just fads.

Anonymous, 03 Nov 2021I wonder how someone manages to break usb port. I have us... moreThrough the years, the worst USB port I found is USB-C. Currently I have a SONY XZ1 compact which is barely usable as it charges only in a specific position and with a specific cable which makes contact. Mini USB was the next worst, on very old phones and breaking in less than 2 years. The more robust were MicroUSB, which I had no phones with it broken, and I had 5 in total, and for less than a year I have an Apple device, an iPad, with Lightning, which I find the best ever port, robust, fits precisely in the device and you feel when it clicks. I really don't understand the hype around USB-C as it is the worst possible port in my experience.

Anonymous, 03 Nov 2021I wonder how someone manages to break usb port. I have us... moreOnly time I ever had issues with connectors were those crappy dumb plastic ones from Ericsson/Sony Ericsson from around 2000's. They got loose from normal use really fast and we weren't even charging them every day. More like once a week. Nokia with barrel connectors never ever had those issues.

GAMIRSFM, 03 Nov 2021Interesting... then why no one commented on it before? Why... moreIt was on YouTube a few years ago, if it's possible to modify iPhone with USB type c, he did it in Shenzhen to see if it's possible, turns out yes possible but it's not cheap

                    What's the point?

It's a big thing because people appreciate clever DIY ideas. I am sure it will be as interesting if someone made an android phone with a Apple Lightning Port.

lollllllllll when type c is big thing in iphone, $100 android have this from couple years ago.

No thanks. My iPhone lightning port are perfectly fine and work well when transferring data. Fast and reliable.

Anonymous, 03 Nov 2021No mobile CPU supports usb 4.0 That is not the point, eventually when it will be supported, it can be implemented whether its lightning or Type-C port.
