Companies should just ad auto focus on the ultra wide and a 3d sensor if they don't have a 2x telephoto

FatShady, 07 Nov 2021remove both and give us a 2x zoom camera.2x Zoom is useless, installed Gcam and forced it to use my main camera for zooms for better quality, I would've MUCH rather had a 2mp telemacro or a 5mp macro, I would've even settled for a 2mp macro.

Macro, ok I kind of get it Not every phone can have a good enough ultrawide (even if the photos from the 2MP macro will be so bad that they won’t be used very much). But I don’t get why 2MP depth sensors are even produced when this stuff can be done through software. The iPhone XR from 2018 had one single camera, and could still do portraits. Putting such a depth sensor in a phone is clearly to increase the camera count only. Some manufacturers don’t even do that, they just put a black circle that says „AI“ or put a ring around the flash to make those look like cameras as well. I‘d just get rid of all of that.

No. Just single camera like Sharp R6.
Better use the space for bit larger battery and better cooling.

Don't realy care, I carry and use a 3rd hand
baby Leica V pocket cam, it can take better pics than any phone cam can, and does things no phone cam can do.

Too much phones oriented Photo.
They rather upagred their Mic and Speaker technologies, it is a shame that on some devices you hear people like they are on the other side of a metallic pipe.
Seriously, F spending half the price for the camera and getting mediocre capacities over the rest of your mobile.

telephoto camera is better for depth information . these cameras is just to add a count in smart phones cameras and I prefer to remove these from phones and add something more useful

I have a moto g100 that has a dot matrix projector paired with a depth camera and a ultra wide 16mp with AF for macro, if this phone had some sort of tele lens it would be the perfect camera set up. It would also be nice if motorola had a decent camera app, have to use gcam ports.

I find a simple macro camera useful to read the small print on labels and and to play around with it like GSMarena did in this article. Ultrawide can be sometimes useful as well. If phones had an UW lens in front as well this would be even better

I see a phone with depth/macro sensor, I don't want it. Simple as.
I'd rather pay extra money to have a phone without these fake sensors, because it's similar to wearing fake luxury clothes. The phone doesn't have 4 cameras, it has 2 real cameras but it's make to look like 4 camera setup to attract people who know nothing about it. Cringe.

for the depth I don't mind, the macro I have used sometimes, altough it would be better for me if could work closer kinda like a microscope, so an ultra wide with macro seems good to me.
