I'm a tech guy and I only upgraded because of 120Hz, the smaller notch had nothing to do with it. I only remember that its smaller when I see an iPhone 12 or older. Would I prefer there is no notch? Sure. But if it's gonna be a punchhole I don't see the difference, it's still an interruption in the screen...

And i don't like punchholes either, but since the under display camera tech are not on on most phones yet. I can settle with the smallest punch hole possible. 🤷‍♂️

I've never heard anything bad about it from normal people, it's just mostly few Android tech boys who have never used it who whine about it. It's there and it has purpose to be there, end of story. If one doesn't like it then buy something else.

          I take notch over bezels everyday and also under display cameras are pure crap currently.

The top middle part of a display never really displays anything. The top generally has the status bar with indicators which are on the left and right. The middle is usually empty. The only time that part of the screen is really used is when you are watching a fullscreen landscape video. Your analogy with the bottom of the screen is just wrong, the bottom is the most used part...

                      It’s not that, it’s the fact that we get new features ;) Wouldn’t it be nice if your years old product still learns new tricks? I’m still rocking my 2017 iPad Pro and have iOS15 with this, again gave new life to this very old device. Really hard to believe this thing came 4 years ago, feels still like new. Still very fast and smooth.

                      What you think i will buy next when Apple giving me such a great long experience with this? Of course i’m very likely to buy another iPad. That’s how it goes, Android users are sick of getting screwed over and over again by greed Android companies who just want to sell you new device so they won’t give you long support.

Which is what it really is. They could put a straight edge on top and have a thick forehead. And still have to sacrifice part of display to show permanent status icons like battery, signal and clock. Or you can extend the display around top sensors and put permanent status icons into those small extensions without sacrificing display area below. So you actually extend the display surface area while also creating distinct look. You may hate the notch and mock it, but if you see a phone with notch today you know it's an iPhone. And iPhones need unique identity among hundreds of thousands of others phones that all look the same. The same way cars have design identity where you instantly know "That's BMW" or "That's VW" or That's "Peugeot" without ever seeing the badge.

Also new features will always be demanding, especially if they are OS wide.

                                Just speak only from your side, we iOS users like updates. It's also biggest reason why Android user would switch to iPhone. Longer software support is getting more and more important as these devices are already so good that people keep them longer and longer, average is now 3 years and next year propably 4 years. For masses camera is only noticable reason to upgrade nowdays which makes any real difference. That's why all companies are going camera ahead nowdays and biggest changes happening there.

They are still used to not getting ANY whatsoever. Most budget phones didn't get any update's ever. It's only recently that they get 1 year if occasional updates. The rest who knows, prefers either iOS because of its superior support or Samsung which is the best when it comes to Android. Their long term support of 4 years on basically anything from A50 series and above is outstanding and they release security updates every single month, often ahead of Google itself.

It wont change nothing in there user experience with there phones. Just some number in software update change is all they know. Also people know that updates can do harm for the phone as in past IOS updates have bricked phones and if you are one of them who's phone was bricked by update you probably dont want to upgrade your phone software anymore too. If apple would give 5 years warranty then that be something to go for. But none give more then 1 year. Well if your not from EU where it's mandatory to have 2 years warranty for electronics.

                                    For me it's not the most important part when i buy a new phone. I usually look for bang in a buck phones that are budget to middle class and all of them last minimum 2-3 years for me and be well worth it and done there job. Also if updates be important for me then for the price of 1 iphone i get minimum 3 new phones every after 2-3 years that will have 2 times hardware update as a new phone and more software updates for the same money and also that 3rd phone will be probably as powerful as the 5 years old iphone is

                                        Oh, the signal reception is also worse on iPhone than the S21u, which is already worse than what Huawei has. Matters a lot when moving in flaky signal areas while listening to YouTube live shows.
