There will be apple fan bo... moreIm not an Apple fanboy (never owned a single Apple product), BUT anyone who seriously thinks Xiaomi would have taken this step if it wasn't for Apple doing it first is a fool. Tech companies sometimes simply copy each other's steps to keep up with the competition.
I'm pretty sure most large Android manufacturers have had this program in the works for long time and they will be announcing it soon. But they would have never pulled the trigger with it if it wasn't for Apple doing it first. Especially low quality budget brands like Xiaomi cannot afford to have less access reparability than Apple. Simple as.
