I can see the parallels:

Qualcomm = nVidia
Mediatek = AMD

I'm not too sure about Mediatek's GPU though, but if you are offering an inferior product, you have to compete on cost.

    I hate this naming change from both Mediatek Dimensity and Qualcomm Snapdragon.
    Dimensity's latest was "Dimensity 1200" now it's "9000"...that would be justifiable if it's performance difference is at least 5 times
    Snapdragon latest was "888+" now it's "8gen1"

    This name changes are unnecessary and just brings more confusion instead of consistency.

      [deleted post]A15 is counterpart of SD888, not 8 Gen1.
      People here need to accept this and stop act like cry baby.

      So dumb to keep fighting because CPUs that do not even have power to run desktop software. All this to open apps 0,001s faster than last generation and dumb games (99,999999999999% of them are locked at 60fps).

      Does not matter if 8 Gen 1, D9000 , E2200 or A16 will be highest benchmark.
      In the end, you do not notice difference while using device.

        db102000, 26 Nov 2021Isn't there a "chip shortage"?The shortage is in 28nm chips, which are used in electronics, car production etc.

          MagicMonkeyBoy, 25 Nov 2021Wow??? Redmi K50 Gaming edition will have this... I don&... moreWOW 😳 Android SoC only have true 64bit on 2022?? Funny, Apple SoC had that for years! 🤣🤣

            Hate or love it, we could not deny the fact that by introducing new technology like this , will let other companies to improve on how new Soc will effect , not just mobile computing, but the the entire IT sector. I would like to see integration between software in android and windows and the new chapter in docking tech

              MagicMonkeyBoy, 25 Nov 2021Wow??? Redmi K50 Gaming edition will have this... I don&... moreAndroid SOCs have already crossed the one million mark.
              That's a score that we can actually expect to translate in the real world on an Android device.
              IOS devices scoring high on certain benchmarks remain paper champs.

                Isn't there a "chip shortage"?

                        None of them are high tier phones.

                        Do not expect more than vivo x80 pro, one plus 10R etc ...

                          Wow??? Redmi K50 Gaming edition will have this...

                          I don't know if many people realise this...

                          But these SoC's are by far the biggest overhaul and generational leap to date.

                          Finally they are all true 64-Bit.

                          And pretty much everything from there backbone, to the gpus have been massively redesigned and heavily updated and massively boosted and improved.

                          Even the cache is much bigger too.

                          These are serious heavy weights. And I would snap these SoC's up in an instant.

                          Your better off with Android SoC's than Apple silicon now... Prepare to be surprised. Very surprised.

                          These will be better than the A15 in almost everyway. Only the single core score should be a bit less due to the 30% die size difference. Making the Droid SoC's die size vs performance ratio better with Android than Apple.

                          Anyway. Forget apple silicon. 2022 is all about Droid SoC's... And yes. Other manufacturers are coming along... Like oppo and more...
