      3rd gen of fold and 2nd gen of flip, but samsung still can't make the fold gapless. Razr, mate x2, and oppo find N did it on the first gen

        Is the "slow" charging really that bad?
        First, a bigger battery is ALWAYS better than a fast charging.
        Second, wattage does NOT directly match charging time, many other things can make a 50W charge faster than a 65W.
        Thirdly, wattage and charging time aren't linear, the more watts, the more of a diminushing return you get.

        Let see the DxOMark battery score, yes, I know, cursed reference, but here we talk about battery, it is pure numbers, not picture quality which is subject to interpretation, a number is a number.

        Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G (SD) : 5000mAh, 25W, 46 minutes to charge to 80%.
        Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra : 5000mAh, 67W, 28 minutes for 80%, clearly not linear.
        OnePlus 9 Pro : 4500mAh, 65W, 22 minutes for 80%, smaller battery here, match the Xiaomi.
        Oppo Reno6 5G : 4300mAh, 65W, 22 minutes for 80%, same charging power mean same charging time?
        Well, compare the iPhone to the Samsung :
        iPhone 13 Pro Max : 4350mAh, 20W, 1h1 for 80%, clearly different.
        But, Demongornot, it isn't an Android!
        Yes, but let's compare to the Samsung this one :
        Redmi Note 10 Pro : 5000mAh, 33W, 52 minutes for 80%, doesn't really match up to the Samsung.

        So, how great a 120W will be? 10 minutes? 5 minutes ?
        Xiaomi 11T Pro : 5000mAh, 120W, 18 minutes for 80%, doesn't really live up to the expectations when compared to the 65W ones.

        Now, the 11T Pro do fully charge in 31 minutes, impressive compared to the ~65W time to 80%, but not that great the last 20%, and this is on all phones obviously, not just this one.
        But while the S21 Ultra goes up to 1h21 for full charge, the ~65W show a vastly wide variety of times for this, from twice as fast to 50% faster.
        Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra : 44 minutes.
        OnePlus 9 Pro : 53 minutes... A smaller battery and much more time to charge.
        Oppo Reno6 5G : 35 minutes, it is 65W, almost half the 11T Pro, yet it almost fully charge its 4300mAh battery as fast, it isn't a half as big battery here.
        Remember the iPhone 13 Pro Max, well, 2h11 to fully charge... I feel sorry for this one.
        Now, as for the 33W one :
        Redmi Note 10 Pro : 1h32, well, the 25W Samsung is faster...

        If you were to make a graph, you'd see that this is a big mess, because it depends on the brand and their implementation, then on the series and how new the tech is with the latest optimizations, and on many other factors, like cooling, battery itself, etc.

        The issue of numbers is that, a 4500mAh phone could be optimized to have a full charge faster than a 5000mAh one which would beat everything else in the 80%, this is a way to use battery size to show the numbers you want, regardless of how much watts you through into the phone.
        So, in the end, the 25W Samsung hold up pretty decently.

        But what count at the end is the following :
        How much time PER DAYS/WEEK you spend charging, a smaller battery will make you charge more often, and fast charging speed is often used as an excuse for putting less battery optimizations.
        The 4500mAh, 65W Oppo Find X3 Pro last 1 day and 20h.
        The 4000mAh, 30W Asus Zenfone 8 last 1 day and 21h.
        Both with the SD888.
        Because, when brand wants, they can clearly optimize things much better :
        11T Pro & 11 Ultra, both 5000mAh, 2 days 2h and 2 days 9 hours respectively...

        Pushing for fast charging is clearly a call to say "hey, we don't care how much the phone last as long as it charge fast", which mean to small batteries.
        Now keep in mind that a battery lifespan is measured in number of complete charge cycle, regardless if it is 2000mAh or 8000mAh, so obviously the smaller one will degrade much faster, same for the lesser optimized one.

        Does waiting a few more minutes for a phone to charge really is worth risking OEMs pulling that out just to squeeze more capitalism juice out of customers?

        I'd take a 15W 6000mAh with good optimizations over any 65W or 120W 4000mAh that some already start to adopt :

        So let's not blindly looks at wattage, nor push brainlessly toward more of it at the expense of optimization, capacity and density (smaller battery for the same capacity).
        We will ALL better off with an optimized 120W 6000mAh than with passable 130W 4000mAh.

            Color OS is a joke, no ingress protection, I expect their software to be years behind One UI + Good Lock on the Fold 3, and there's no way I want a 7.1" inch foldable (when there are 6.8-7" slabs) that has a punch hole in the inner screen but no pen support or wireless DEX analog.

            Oppo did not nail the Find N. It is bang average and has worse compromises than the Fold. Don't mind it, but to suggest it is currently the best foldable is preposterous.

            All the Find N has going for it are better camera hardware and hinge design. Both of which other foldables--from Xiaomi and Huawei--have had for years and still the Fold continues to dominate.

              Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 was a big winner of 2021..

              ..until I saw the Oppo Find N. Then Fold 3 being the best foldable no longer rang true. Too tall and narrow. Oppo took 4 years but nailed it on their first foldable.
