He was being exaggerated, saying that smartphones can barely produce sixth generation graphics, when it is not true. current smartphones are just as powerful as a basic ps4, and can quite decently emulate the Nintendo switch.

For the rest of them, a vast majority that is, locked source code/ kernel doesn't matter at all. So your logic is the useless thing here.

Google tensor has more media core than Exynos 2100 does that mean Exynos 2100 is not flagship soc?

Yeah but MTK has always had great brute force numbers for lots of things. At the end of the day if the software does not tap into it, then it does not matter.

Just hoping they give updated driver support. Secondly chipsets have improved tremendously over the years. Want to see battery technology improving since it is slowest part in development. Chipsets and camera technology have improved greatly for average user. Battery and sound quality still needs improvement.

That's what makes Android better than iOS. If you release locked Android kernel, it's basically useless.

In my opinion, real flagship should use the latest process.
That was the case with X30 or this Dimensity 9000.
In my opinion, X20 serie is more an upper-mid...
I consider Dimensity 1200 is very good upper mid too...and it is far closer to flagship than X20 ever was...

It wasn... moreAt that time 20nm wasnt old, sd 820 had 14nm if am not mistaken but plenty of soc still used 20/22nm sd 652 which was used in upper midrange had 28nm.
X20 had Cortex A72 same big core you could find in any flagship soc of that time. Also Mali T880 was used in s7 exynos version, X20 used Mp4 version and s7 used Mp12 version.
Even in their Website mediatek clearly specify X series were for flagship

But in the long run when they computing moves from electrons to optics, they may no longer need lithography machines.
Even samsung foundries says lithography machines will be irrelevant in 2 decades.
But still a long way to go.
