Dimensity 9000 tops AI Benchmark, leaves Google Tensor and Snapdragon 888 in the dust

There are no official scores for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, but its expected performance is slightly below that of the Dimensity.

But every year we hear about speed and big numbers which in reality it does not make a difference.

      Just Remember bechmark is just a gimik
      The most important things is the actual performance

        It support AV1 decoding, that alone will make me forget about other chipsets.

        Other extras:
        -Higher mid-cpu clocks
        -Faster RAM
        -Newer Bluetooth version
        -Cooler to run

        So even if it's not faster than others I'd still choose it over anything else based on its features, even though it lacks mmwave part of 5G, but I don't care since in my country we only use Sub-6GHz 5G.

            They do probably the same for the others.

            Then OEM must update...
            With all the sources from other vendors (cameras, fingerprint reader, touchscreen...)

            Nokia updates Mediatek's the same way they updates Snapdragon (2 major updates on entry level) for long time.
            Today, Redmi Note are updated the same way no mater the soc.
            OnePlus Nord 2 will receive 2 major updates like the first Nord .
            Xiaomi 11T will be updated the same way as 11T Pro

            And you can find all the sources of all the devices available in Europe on GitHub without any problem.

On top of all vendors being lazy with only minimal possible effort they can muster to deliver bare minimum updated for the series of phones they shell out every year...

                Can we train ML models on it? What's the use of this?

With Huawei banned the Kirin chips have gone so now we're left with only 3 companies in terms of designing high end chips and there's still only two companies who can produce them. I think some of the other big Chinese smartphone companies, like Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo are entering the designing space but I guess it make take them years to be fully competitive. More competition is also needed for chip foundries but I doubt that it will happen in the short term as Chinese companies can't source ASML lithography machines.

                                    Dimensity get expensive as Snapdragon.
