Nice!!! Always been a fan of MediaTek. From P series to G series (not really a demanding user here), and now Dimensity 9000! Can't wait!

Can anyone explain whats the benefit of improving AI perf compared to CPU and GpU perf?

About the custom roms, why do you need them when the phone have a high end soc?
Want pure android experience? Just get the Pixel.

Part of the faster NPU / AI is to make sure the phones running smooth in long term.. Not just for some fancy camera processing.

They should beat latest upcoming Snapdragon and not older one. Of course they can't do it.

            Mobile games are crap.

Funny part is the high number of people that cheat on these games. Look all over internet for tutorials to get free coins or upgrades.
If person is so into games, should play honestly.

We are still years away from having graphics that look like The Matrix Awakens demo on PlayStation 5. And perhaps another 20-25 years from having PS5 emulation on our phones.

It's been 20 years and we still don't have great emulation for the original Xbox and just barely getting it for PS2 with AetherSX2. Most of our phones can only produce graphics from the 6th gen. Forget PS4 graphics or you'll get 30 minutes battery life.

The people who love to complain about these chips are people who had garbage phones or are marketing suckers, for the most part. Gamers are another thing. For the average user, there is no difference in performance between flagship chips, only a difference in software optimization of phones. I currently have both SD & MT and they both are very fast, with no lag.

                      It wasn't a real flagship :
                      - older 20nm process
                      - medium GPU
Nevertheless, heating problems aren't the one you read everywhere...for exemple, CPU was more stable than SD652.
(If it really had heating problem, how Mediatek pushed frequencies from 2.1ghz on X20 to 2.6ghz on X27?)

There were 2 real flagships in my opinion :
                      - mt6595 (SD805's era). It had powerfull cortex A17 (better than Kraith 450) and h265 hardware encoding SD805 hadn't
                      - Helio X30 (SD835's era). It was a 10cores chip like X20 but it used the latest 10nm process and carry a bigger GPU

AI is not that useful but still looks promising for Mediatek.
