Anonymous, 20 Dec 2021Great, so you give sand as an example. Well, ok. Go on, rub... moreGo ahead, rub your glass smartphone in sand and let see if it won't scratch like plastic at all. Funny, it seems you and M}3 are the ones over-glorifying glass because when people get their new smartphones they put it in a case immediately, to some extent, others applies screen protector or tempered glass to prevent their screen from being scratched, and to greater extent, there are some who put skin on the back of their smartphones because they do know glass is slippery and fragile. And when a glass smartphone drops to the ground, the glass back usually goes first.

I'm sure you've dropped your smartphone once or twice and every time it drops your heart skips a beat, and hoping the glass did not shatter every time you pick it up off the ground.

"Glass feels nicer and is more durable than plastic."

is it? I say plastic is more durable

        Anonymous, 20 Dec 2021I don't see why it's bad.I would say because it's heavy.

Damn! I was hoping for plastic on vanilla. Let's hope it's just a rumors otherwise... I don't know... no small phones available with more or less usable hardware. Lava Z1 doesn't count. Zenfone 8, maybe.

They wont come back. It has been years since it has been removed. Other companies are removing them too.

Anonymous, 20 Dec 2021Glass loses heat easier than plastic. Ya, but the plastic is better isolator so it's harder to cool a phone with a plastic back.

I think this forum is infested with S21 buyers defending their crappy plastic phone hahaha :)). You didn't own a plastic phone for 3-4 years to know how sticky, damaged, and washed out that back it would get even with a case on.

Metal back would be even better but sadly everyone is iphone copycat

Anonymous, 20 Dec 2021"Glass is glass....." Wise words by jerryyeah glass breaks, except for people who are handling their devices with care and not throwing their phone around like a rubber toy.
using the note 10 plus without a case or screen protector for two years, not a single drop.
actually using a case gives the user a false sense of security.
glass handled with care can last years,
plastic not so much, after long period of use its gonna look like recycled lunchbox.

I wonder if when apple first introduced glass back phones they did it because they know how fragile glass were so when their costomers shattered their glass back iphone repairing them would make them alot of money.

Plastic scratches easier than glass (but glass, even Gorilla Glass, does still scratch).
But glass shatters much easier than plastic (again, even Gorilla Glass).
Frankly I'm happy that my s21 has plastic. I still think that glass backs are a stupid feature on any phone.
