Either they should stick to making PCs or laptops, either merge their mobile division with Sony or Samsung.
As much as I like their PCs, their phones are pretty bad..
Also, no SD card slot = NO BUY! (I really don't care about the rest of the specs if the SD slot is not available)

Asus has come a long way. Growth has been slow but consistent

Asus rog phone 5 is still a masterpiece, one of the best devices that came out of 2021 and one that able to tame the snapdragon 888. It even has an audiophile grade dac. Nothing comes close tbh. Although 5s isn't an upgrade with the 888+. Eagerly waiting for gen 1 model.

And zero mention of the bricking issues this year that affected the Zenfone 8. The phone actually killed my power bank, and ASUS quietly confirmed (see what a good tech journalist I'd be there) that you can ONLY charge the Zenfone 8 with the supplied charger. I have not had any issue charging any other phone I've ever owned with a different charger to the one supplied.
I really hope they've learned their lesson following the multiple user reports and photos regarding the issue. But I am confident that they will do, and will undoubtedly go for the Zenfone 9.

All rubbish actually. Software is OK but updates are rare. Sustained performance but actually motherboard is cheap, and you can check Asus forums complaining phones won’t start (either Zenfone or ROG) because it gets too hot and the UFS module is located too close to the chipset. Aftersales and service support is very lacking.

The ROG Phone 5 cost $1700 AUD too, yikes! I will rather get an iPhone or some regular Android flagship, besides mobile gaming is almost pointless.

The ZenFone 8 and ROG 5 are the antithesis in styling. The ZenFone 8 is plain to a fault and the ROG 5 is the flashiest phone around. I can understand the gamer aesthetics of the ROG phones but maybe the ZenFone could have been more eye catching.
