XXX13, 07 Jan 2022The looks like the Nokia N97.Mine was E7 and had exactly the same keyboard.

Seems we are going backwards. Nevertheless, better to go in 2000s than today where every phone is just the same with different logo

The looks like the Nokia N97.

This Phone looks like the Nokia N7

Foldable phones are still far from cheap to buy and repair. Phones like this are still much easier to repair because they are still effectively normal-shaped smartphones. Also, given the choice between a foldable phone and a normal tablet, I can see more people going for the latter.

At last an interesting phone WITH a decent processor. Heck, Dimensity 800 and 820 deserves more love and maybe it deserves to return as a Dimensity 5000 in a low mid tier.

nokia and sony ericsson tried this in the past.asus tried a more flexible approach with padphone.even lg tried 4 years ago with folding screens(2 screens).none of them ended up well.both keyboard and screen are too small for laptop style usage.future of this form factor is folding tablets.besides, what is astro?

I thought Manjaro based pinephones were popular only because people usually flashed them with Android.

At last an interesting phone.

Anonymous, 07 Jan 2022another useless phoneOh please, this isn't for average consumers who don't know anything about Linux.

"The phone boots Android 11 but it can also be booted with Linux distributions and Planet Computers is also working on bringing support for Sailfish OS."

That's the main reason why I've been eyeing this phone for a long while. Physical keyboard support on Android always has been quite patchy, but not with Linux. I'll be waiting to see Manjaro ARM support for this phone. That would be wicked, especially when using its Phosh Desktop Mode.

I was waiting for a phone with a keyboard for a DECADE now, and I was going to snap this up in a instant. Then I saw that price...

Dimensity 9000 for £9999.

In an industry where the same thing is dished out day in, day out, often by the same company, these guys took a gamble and invested time and money in developing something different. It probably won't be a huge success, but I respect them for thinking outside of the box. Good luck to them.
