Why would they modify it and make it look like iOS?
Sony is not going to change notifications style, all those iOS look like widgets etc ..
Nor use childish icons like MiUI and OneUI.
Best part is possibility of using buttons instead of gestures.
All should just add stuff. It is too dumb to give UI versions or even name it name-OS.

In the past only flagships were good. But now midrangers are also great and they have better battery life than flagships. Find a decent midranger and enjoy.

Looking at UI/UX i can say even after my last Xperia was the SP back in 2014...the UI/UX just keeps too much conservative/the same as backnin time...
Sony really are lost in time, even tho they update their phones. But that UI is so boring.
(Yeah, let some people reply to my coment saying: oh, what about Xiaomi and MIUI, they are even boring.) - Yes, but at least you have themes, theme store and can cusumize them as much as you want. Period.
Enough of MIUI haterz saying bad stuff but: look at Sony, looks at Apple...boring.

Actually no sensor is fully used, because sensors are rectangles and lenses are circles.
So part of pixel count remains outside image circle.
You have total pixel count and effective pixel count. All those 12MP, are 12.2 or 12.3MP, but take photos 4000x3000 pixels.

Anonymous, 07 Jan 2022A52 and A72 are getting it already.Samsung's midrange offers excellent specs at excellent prices, with fast updates that are often ahead of schedule, and a transparent roadmap. That's why I recently bought a second-hand A52 5G, and I'm very happy with it. Also, I don't need to import what I want like I do with OnePlus and Realme.

Great, that's great, Sony.
I hope this co really makes it and also we expect high standards of transparency from them. I still feel they shouldn't have said Xperia I III has a 1" sensor when it's not used fully.

solided, 07 Jan 2022Forgotten as expected.I doubt Sony will forget the 10 since the 10 Mk2 did receive Android 11 OS update last year*. Most brands, including Sony, always focus on the flagship first when it comes to OS version update.

Looks like it's just a matter of time before Android 12 arrive on Xperia 5 Mk2. I'd be surprised if Sony quietly rolls out the Android 12 OS update to the original Xperia 1 and Xperia 5 since Sony never said anything about giving three major OS updates.

I don't think so it will be included in the list of Android 12 updates... I think I've seen the confirmed devices which are:
Xperia 1ii 5ii 10ii, 1iii, 5iii, 10iii Xperia Pro, and Xperia Pro-i
that's it... no 1, no 5 no 10 neither 10 plus will be getting A12 unfortunately!
