Chip manufacturing seem to be Achilles' heel for many, but will it be for Sony?
Sony should schedule launch events on par, like other manufacturers do. As long as they keep Zeiss & ''3,5mm'' abroad, their success is obtained rightfully.
If Sony doesn't lose value? What does it mean to be only 3 months late, actually it was already one summer too late from advertising point.

it's unfortunate to see that 3.5mm jack and microSD card are considered "niche" features and people wanting these are accused of being "niche" audience.

I've given up hope that Sony will take its smartphone division seriously as a mass-market player. they seem to have settled into making niche phones for affluent photography hobbyists.

meh...maybe Asus can finally become a player in the USA, now that LG has imploded and Sony has hobbified?

I have had at least five or six phones with Quad HD display and it really does make a difference when compared to a full HD but it also depends on the quality of the display I think. Some full HD LCD can be just as good, like the iPhone 11 ones I guess

AlienKiss, 13 Jan 2022Dude, we're living in 2022, not 2012. 128GB is nothing... moreI understand your situation. I don't have as much of stuff in my phone but I used to have. Even then it was not an issue since I use multiple phones, a tablet and a laptop. So all of my stuff is at various places and I still have plenty of GBs left. But yes, for some, it can be a problem if they store everything in one single device, so it will be always good to see devices that come with more and more internal space. As for SD card slot in phones, I can't really say cause I barely used any on my phones, but IG it can be present for those who require it

Only CODM is 14GB. Termux with Kali on top of it is another 15GB. So just 2 apps on my phone combined take up to almost 30GB!
If I want to binge watch some TV series without the SD card getting involved, it would be taking up all the internal memory of the phone (maybe only 2 seasons)
No high-end flagship phone should come with less than 512GB internal memory, especially if it costs 1000 and up.
No high-end flagship should come with a pathetic FHD resolution with pathetic low DPI density of the display, especially if it costs 1000 and up. (Yes Samsung, I mean you), especially for a display larger than 5 inches.

Well Sony Xperia is kind of a niche category of devices. Not for everyone, of course. Definitely not for the budget and the value conscious. Just like how Rolls Royce is not cheap either but no one ever buys one for the performance numbers

sony should take the Xperia 1iii and make a flip version... complete with headphone jack and all... that would be fire!!!!

Anonymous, 12 Jan 2022If it is cost like a piece of gold it doesn't mean it ... moreActing as if Xperia is the only phone cost that much. Yes, it is overpriced, but so are all other flagships.

Besides, likes of you have no problems with Pixels launching with weak Tensor even though 888 is still more powerful despite being older. I agree Sony is poor with marketing and hopefully they made more effort. But this doesn't mean the product is bad. Likes of you tend to ignore this when Tensor etc are free from your criticism. For some reason, everyone gang up against Sony when their phones get many things right which others get wrong.

None decent care much about selfie camera outside video calls, they've got better things to do.

Archaic headphone jack and micro SD cards are way more useful than gimmicky wireless charging and face unlock. Only someone brainwashed disagrees. Who, except iphone owner use face unlock anyway? And what purpose does wireless charging serve except being an excuse to taking away the usb c port?
