So, it doesn't come with GPS or cameras but does come with a microphone, 4G and Android which likely means it will have GMS.
The whole idea of this device is dumb, it's like putting a steel door (and only that) in a grass field as means of protection.

CMMIW but even without gps, network operators can still get your estimate location based on the closest tower your phone sim's connected to, right?

So why not a phone with a hardswitch to turn off the camera's/mic/data/etc.? So you still have a phone and you can put some kind of cover in front of it so you're sure it isn't recording.

Would be great for media playback; the notch kills it right away, though. Maybe they got the displays cheaper with cut-out.

That notch could easily be the reason half of the customers would abandon the choice. Otherwise it it's a potential media device for children and elderly.

So they really mass produce these displays with a prefabricated water drop notch and companies just use these off-the-shelf and put their front camera in them.
