06 February 2022
Merging the Note with the Galaxy S Ultra was done to make room for the Z Fold, but did it make things better or worse?

So the s20....especially the s20/note 20 ultra starting with 8/128 is utter bs. The 21 having 8/128 and no slot is just pure scamming insanity.

The 8/128 this year is to make next year's upgrade somewhat noteworthy. The Note 20 Ultra started at 8/256 and it had a microSD slot.

Everyone can see the S22 Ultra is a Note in all but name. It has the signature design and feature set of a Note. S Ultras don't have sharp corners and an integrated S-Pen.

I owned the Note 20 Ultra. The S22 Ultra is a like-for-like upgrade.

the note series used to be about taking the S model and then beefing it up in for an autum launch, it was simply bigger and better in every way, then they started cutting corners by removing hardware and features along the way, all the while increasing the S models size and performance until the S line and Note line had nowhere to go because they were so alinke aside from the pen and some pen specific software, so this move makes sense, even if I do think this was the plan going back several years, although I do feel that the S22 ultra should still have packed more into it, I dont care for the 3.5mm jack as wireless buds are excellent nowadays but I do still miss the external storage which came in handy for storing audio and photos on and thus saving tons of space on the device, it was also handy for editing to just take the card out and into the computer for hassle free editing, failing that, the Note should have a base storage of 512gb given its premium price tag

The only downside to this can be that potential Note buyers will be left with no other option but to go for Ultra since vanilla Note will be no longer available but then again the base variant Note was not really appealing anyways so Samsung took the correct decision to axe it

AverageIndianUser, 06 Feb 2022who cares. should Samsung have continued working on the s10... moreS10e had extreme multi touch problems. So badly built that it felt your touch through the back. Cover took care of it though. And the camera had serious faulty problems. Had it switched 3 times. Af suddenly crashed and didn't work for a couple of days.

I won't buy it anyway, too expensive. But personally I would have preferred a bigger battery (6000-7000) rather than the stylus.

who cares. should Samsung have continued working on the s10e? yes.

Samsung fans, 06 Feb 2022Galaxy S22 Ultra is just an S Ultra series using a dead bod... moreDead from just the name. It's like going from Staples Center to Crypto.com Arena. The Note still exists but under a different moniker. It's like Nexus to Pixel.

I voted I don't care. Samsung offers to many phones already.

Well, the decision to discontinue Note series was stupid.
Bcoz, they are already launching 02 S-series phone & 01 Note phone in 2022; which is pretty much the same approach of launching 02 S-series phones (in 1st half of year) & 01 Note phone (in 2nd half of year) prior to 2021.

So eventually, since inception of S-series & Note-Series, that's what Samsung has done.
So I don't see any new approach & therefore discontinuing Note was plain stupid.

It just sux that s22 Ultra has nothing in common with the rest of the s22 family when it comes to design... It's just a next generation boxy Note phone.
Too bad we didn't get 6.9" or even 7" s22 ultra with the same design as s22 with symmetrical bezels and that camera bump...

Honestly, S, S+, S Ultra, S FE, Fold, Flip, Samsung's flagship portfolio is too much already. Not to count their last Note lineup too, Note, Note Ultra and Note FE. If fans wanted to bring back the Note line up, I suggest they should rebrand the S Ultra lineup as the new Galaxy Note, as they wanted to put S Pen in.

                                2011-2020

It makes sense to merge the S line and Note line into the Ultra cuz of S-Pen stylus. So the flagships are now Flip, Fold and S series. But we'll see.

Well the Note was not only a matter on bigger screen and more specs, it was also a matter of having a far better build quality.
When I first hold a Note in my hand, I instantly understood what it is to have a phone with good build quality. I reminded me of the Nokia E-series.
The problem with the Note is that Samsung made the S20 Ultra, in fact there was no point in making this Ultra as they still had the note.
Also, the point in the Note is *also* to have a bigger screen, more battery and more power than the S series so even if there is a S20 Ultra this doesn't mean that the Note should dissapear. Anyway, I don't see myself coming back to an S series.

The T in Oneplus normally stands for a cheaper version of the phone. For the LG V and Samsung Galaxy Note series, it's normally for polishing the existing G and S series. So the upgrades might be minimum, but it's all about the little things.

It made things worse. The note series should have been kept separate.
