P C M, 08 Feb 2022 Man ! Even 4k PC gaming doesn't require 18GB most of ... moreOn what planet is 16GB enough for 4K PC gaming? The Nvidia 3090 GPU has 24GB of VRAM. Not main RAM. VRAM.
On smartphones, have you ever heard about DeX? Or browser tab sync?
It's embarrassing you folks keep talking out of your a$$, rather than accept your inadequacy to utilize next-gen tech does not affect everyone. Some people need and pay top-dollar for excellent hardware.
The Pro XDR starts at $5000. Are you going to ask content creators why they need a 6K screen that supports 1b colors when they could get a cheap 4K monitor for $500? Should that content creator spend invaluable time explaining why or just allow you wallow in your ignorance.

samsung' strategy ..i think has gone for a toss.
Galaxy 20 Note Ultra- discontinued.
S21 Ultra - discontinued.
and they want all to gravitate towards new and untested products with only minor incremental changes
I was a die hard Samsung fan, but now I have seen how they are moving away from good phones at a decent price to phones which are marginally good but they come with a very steep price and plagued with supply chain issues and abrupt overnight discontinuations- Good Luck Samsung.

YUKI93, 08 Feb 2022Samsung has been selling their flagship phone with two diff... moreActually you're slightly wrong. Samsung have been selling 2 SoC phone since 2013.
Exynos was overall better the first 4 years. So, people usually forget that exynos was a thing before 2016. As most people tend to remember the negatives better.

Khamis1990, 07 Feb 2022Its too early to discontinue this phone???Samsung is discontinuing it to prevent people from buying it or S22 ultra as there is not much difference between that and S22.

Scram, 07 Feb 2022And people like you who never buy flagships force the rest ... moreIt'll be a while before you can see Qualcomm or Mediatek make a smartphone chipset that can support 4K@240Hz. 1TB internal storage sounds nice though it sounds overkill for most people. 18GB RAM? That's rather pointless to me. I'd rather have well-optimized software than add in more RAM with little to no software optimization. Also, I'd rather have that much RAM on my Windows or Linux machine instead of an Android smartphone.

Unb1453d, 08 Feb 2022OMG the comment section in 2022,the s22 series aren't ... moreSamsung has been selling their flagship phone with two different chipset since 2016, so no surprise why people are concerned whenever Samsung launch a new Galaxy S phone.

Scram, 07 Feb 2022And people like you who never buy flagships force the rest ... moreI hope you have your reasons for that much RAM. Or probably you won a lottery and they said you can get anything as long as it stays under 5000$.
I mean why the hell you would get 128GB RAM.
Also as far as I knew Aurora R13 offers upto 64GB RAM(unless you demand to add extra). But that's not important, the important thing is what are you doing with that 128GB RAM ???

Scram, 08 Feb 2022If you only use your smartphone to make calls and send text... more Man ! Even 4k PC gaming doesn't require 18GB most of the cases(16GB enough).
It takes more RAM only if you do 4k-8k video editing or heavy animation rendering.
Smartphone is very balanced with 8gb and no more than 12GB is needed.
No one wants 10 apps running in the background and killing the battery in 3-4 hours.
You precious chinese brands give 16-18 GB RAM but they kill the background apps anyway.
So, logically speaking they don't even need 12GB as they consistently kill background apps after a few moments later.

Shadocx, 07 Feb 2022Oh him, I know his channel and his tests aren't flawle... moreActually the efficiency of SD gen1 is very good. A lot better than the SD 888.
Qualcomm was just afraid of Exynos 2200 performances.
So, they just gave the SoC a lot more voltage(10W) so that it can match/surpass the Exynos 2200.
So, while running benchmark the SD gen1 might be power hungry but for regular usage or gaming it will be very efficient as any SD SoC.

No surprise there. At this point, a brand new S21 Ultra 5G should be at least 25% off the original RRP.

Surprised a lot of people are still getting scammed by this. Same CPU with other brands but with cheaper price and better camera. Brand recognition really is something.

I DO NEED 18Go to send... moreIf you only use your smartphone to make calls and send texts, you should not be part of this conversation.
As explaining a peculiar use case to you would be the equivalent of explaining the component requirements of a quantum computer to a chimp. You simply can't understand it even if you wanted to.

Scram, 07 Feb 2022And people like you who never buy flagships force the rest ... moreExactly how does 128GB of RAM in a gaming laptop improve your computing experience in any meaningful way? Do you run all your games at once? You just sound ridiculous trying to justify whatever it is you've purchased.

There was also a test unit of the SD 8 Gen 1 phone. Test unit did so well. The actual phone did not.

US only- Fi sold the S21U for $600 (plus tax), and they're currently selling the regular S21 for $300. You'll have to transfer your line to Fi for 120 consecutive days though.
