Not sure if anyone remembers this but before OneUI, Samsung's UI was called "Samsung Experience". I think it debuted w/the Galaxy S8 but was swiftly changed to OneUI come Android 9. Samsung Experience was actually a good name, in my opinion, but I think what really drove Samsung to change the name was if Samsung Experience was abbreviated, it becomes "SEX"

Anonymous, 14 Feb 2022I mean, Mac OS had widgets in 1984, and iOS has had widgets... morehahaha, poor thing, you don't know what widget is.
"A widget is a small gadget or control of your android application placed on the HOME SCREEN. Widgets can be very handy as they allow you to put your favourite applications on your HOME SCREEN in order to quickly access them."
Someone from (Cr)apple told you that you had them and you believed them.

Man aye because company foprces them to do so.

Xiaomi A1, A1 lite, A2 and A2 lite for example sold pretty well with stock android.
Much better than Xiaomi of nowdays.

Wasn’t TouchWiz replaced by Samsung Experience though, and not directly by One UI?

As expected of GSMA geeks--intellectually lazy hyperbole.

I preferred Sense UI in the past and prefer One UI presently. I appreciate TouchWiz for laying sound foundations, not running a tirade at every chance.

                    Both are consumer products

And just like poison touchwiz slowly degraded your experience until it killed your interest

S8300 UltraTouch was my dream phone, but around the time it was introduced I already had a different phone (some Nokia) and then when the time came to buy a new phone, S8500 Wave was already out so I got it and it was absolutely phenomenal. Obviously it was the time of OS wars so no one knew which platform will be dominant and bada OS was fantastic, you could do things that you couldn't do on any other device (even Androids). But eventually it became clear Samsung abandoned bada so I bought my first Galaxy (S4 in 2013) and I've been with them ever since (Note 4 cemented my faithfulness to Samsung). Now a Note 20 Ultra owner :)

Oh we're talking about touchscreen UI's? Then I suggest everyone go check out Nokia's Meego interface for the N9...I think Android and co are only just catching up to the amazing gesture control this OS used. I still pine for that device...if only evil Micro$oft hasn't screwed up Nokia's consumer division so bad!!

As much as some of uis have flaws I've always enjoyed them because of what they could do, even using HTC touchflo back in Windows mobile days, I've used touchwiz and one UI and, and more recently miui 12/12.5/13, they aren't perfect and at times have their quirks but I've still had great experience with them too, the only time I've ever used pure android was when I was trying out custom roms and what not but I always ended up moving back as a lot of the time I didn't get the same functionality as I wanted to have.

My favourite old Samsung was my i900 Omnia windows phone, the same week I got it , I flashed a Chinese rom to it.
My S2 and S3 were great though , definitely enjoyed my time collecting the S series , only 2 I missed out were S6 and S8
