I see many things which are missing on ios.. and vice versa.. so the choice should be there.. and if 100% of the population lined for apple products.. then it will be harder for you fanboys to buy them.. as monopolies always mean higher price without exception

RLJ-M, 15 Feb 2022As someone living outside of the US, I've never truly ... moreIt has to do with the RCS service. Both iMessage and Google Messenger (oddly, Samsung messages also has it in the US but I could be wrong) are the only messaging apps that support RCS.
Since Whatsapp is owned by Facebook, Americans may not want to use that at all (I certainly don't but my family is hard to convince). Telegram and Signal are miles better for Americans.

Need to click "show more" when text messages have more characters. Moreover, there is no way to block spam messages. Even Google Dialer is better than Samsung's Dialer in blocking spam calls. Hiya is not as good as Google's spam detection.

The samsung messaging app is still there not just set as default. You can easily set the sammy messaging app as your default app anytime. As far as I see it why use the crappy google messenger when the samsung messaging app is better. Just my point of view though.

As someone living outside of the US, I've never truly gotten the whole debate over messaging apps. And how people want iMessage in Android. We use Google Messenger and iMessage for SMS and that's that's hey. Everything else is in WhatsApp and there's a 98 percent chance the person you wanna talk to is on WhatsApp.

The Google messaging app is buggy. It fails to show me some messages e.g. OTP send from various sites.
I have to switch to the Samsung app to see the OTP messages.

I have a google pixel 4a5g. Great value phone. Switched to Pulse SMS+ from app store a while back. Think I had Samsung before. Pulse SMS+ far superior and should I switch phones to another brand doesn't do my head in ;-) Once excellent feature it has is you can have a delayed send facility think from 10-30 secs which I have found super useful.

This has been going on in all Samsung devices, not just flagships, for the past two years. I always switch to Samsung's text messages app, but of course 99% of people leave the Google option by default. Why not, if they like it.
