Holy cowcake Samsung, really, really embarrassing... I wonder what those freaks are smoking 😳
Its so far out releasing a phone which is not ready and yes they all do this, but its still not fair to customers.
Im surprised we all accept this, we would never accept to buy a unfinished Tv, car etc.
    Damn those hustlers.

Jeez, design explained, refresh rate explained... What's next? Volume button explained? Hilarious.

AnonD-1030581, 19 Feb 2022Yes, they didnt saw drop to 1hz because they didnt measured... moreWe did measure the OAD and still only saw 24Hz, but admittedly 1fps UI rendering at times. If the display does indeed go down to 1Hz in AOD it only happens on a hardware level and the software remains unaware of the fact.

Man, it's a complete night and day difference when gaming with 120Hz compared to 60Hz, especially when playing RPG games.

How about refresh rate for AOD? As far as I remember, it always remain static at 60Hz regardless of the screen refresh rate. I remembered reading an article saying that giving variable refresh rate for AOD can lead to screen burn-in.

AnonD-1030581, 19 Feb 2022Jesus, everyone knows, or at least the tech info guys, that... moreSharp has a similar tech. Their phones can go 1Hz when there is static image like photo on screen. This has been done since Aquos Zero II (2019) .

I'm just going to lock the refresh rate at 60Hz all the time anyway. The only time I'll go higher than 60Hz is when I do gaming, particularly console emulation. Other than that, I stay at 60Hz to conserve the battery usage. I truly can't see any point of having a smoother scrolling effect when I care much more about the content I'm reading about instead.

Since the early leaks, it was pretty clear only Ultra would come with LTPO.

"But the advantage of the Galaxy S22 Ultra is not as big as we originally thought. We never actually saw the phone drop to 1Hz - or indeed below 24Hz. During all of our testing so far, both the Galaxy S22+ and S22 Ultra showed 24Hz to be their lowest refresh rate."

Jesus, everyone knows, or at least the tech info guys, that only the S22 ultra (note) has the new LTPO displays that support 1-120hz
1hz is only measured and works on/for always on display

                          That's called advanced marketing.
