This is very impressive indeed.
I am fascinated with the world's best mobile GPU from the 8 Gen 1 beating the A15...
But the Dimensity 9000 is really something. That multicore score is just 7% less than the A15. That is nothing really.
The GPU in the 9000 is slightly less powerful than the 8 Gen 1. But is still really powerful. Especially for Mali. I mean its a GPU revolution right now for both snapdragon and Dimensity.
But Mediatek have done an AMD vs Intel for sure. Never did we all think that Mediatek would trump the Snapdragon.
This is really awkward for me now. As I am looking intently for a new gaming phone. It's really awkward. There are even more gaming phones coming out. Like the 9000 powered Realme Neo 3 GT Gaming edition with shoulder buttons. And so many other gaming phones. With different processors. And specs. Real awkward discerning between them. And this mediatek really spun me out.
But would ideally settle for the 8 Gen 1+ that multicore score would be razor close to the 9000. But the GPU is very important to me.
What we are seeing now is at this rate. Android is gradually overtaking apple silicon. The GPU on the snapdragon is better than the A15.
The multicore score of the 8 Gen 1+ and Dimensity 9000 are 7-8% less than the A15. Which is nothing really. But probably by next year. It's really quite possible for Android Processors to be ahead of Apple in multicore scores. And the GPU will by light years ahead. As already the 8 Gen 1 GPU is substantially ahead of the A15.
The single core scores are impressive as far as Android goes as the die size is 30% smaller than Apple. So the single core score for Android should be 30% less than Apple. But the truth is. For the size. Android power to size ratio is better than Apple.
But yeah. Real difficult choosing between gaming phones. Real difficult.
