OnePlus: OxygenOS 13 will be closer to stock UI, OnePlus 10 Pro launching end of March globally

28 February 2022
Will also be expanding to other markets like Mexico, Canada, North Africa, and Middle East.

First they said they wanna make an unified os, and then they said it's a split version of it for OOS with "stock" experience. Yeah right, OP, keep saying that. We'll see how stock it is your new oos later.

Other phones, even the previous models (i.e., OP9 Pro), did not suffer from this issue; those were not CAT phones or even required an OtterBox for this regular day-to-day stuff, they were just built right from the beginning.

Nick Tegrataker, 01 Mar 2022This statement kind of falls flat on its face given the fac... moreOnePlus for the longest time sold OxygenOS as "Stock Android, but with more Red". That's what they're best known for, not running the exact same software as a sub-€200 Oppo that barely gets any updates. Except in 2021, OnePlus tried giving their €900 phones the exact same software as a €200 Oppo, and they got universally DESTROYED for that.

Now, they say they want to start re-using Google Pixel Stock Android elements in OOS 13 (such as Material You, settings layout, and privacy options).

Nickname optional, 28 Feb 2022I subscribe, my OnePlus 9 Pro is full of bugs after Android... moreStock Android is a meme. OneUI is unironically the best version of Android.

                  What about Android 12 ?
Till so called closer to stock UI is released, what to do with buggy OS?

This damage control won't help much. Damage done cannot be undone. Hard to trust. When they announced merger with OPPO, they promised no change in Oxygen OS. But fact is it turned out to be Color OS replacing Oxygen OS.
Hard to trust even this promise.

This statement kind of falls flat on its face given the fact that stock Android has already lost its distinct simplistic design language and got much closer to the likes of One UI, MIUI, ColorOS, EMUI etc.

5-6 years ago you might have been able to describe the stock Android as "a clean, pure Android experience that is not as bloated as TouchWiz/Samsung Experience, nor resembles iOS like many Chinese Android skins do". Nowadays this statement no longer applies and rather they all look the same as one another.

OnePlus' finally making a comeback after their rep era?? 😱

Haha! That's what they get. Oxygen OS 12 is hideous!

What about the people that handle their phones roughly ? The 10 Pro will be a total waste if someone accidentally sits on it while the phone is in pockets. It will snap in half in less than 3 second. Really bad job by OnePlus this time. And no i don't have anything against OnePlus. In fact I'm typing this from my OnePlus phone which i love. But the 10 Pro is a flop

I expect OnePlus will enter Indonesia market as part of their expansion. Their sister company - Oppo, Vivo & Realme combined, already dominate Indonesia market.

If they fix the OS issue and stock UI experienced I'll stay with them I really hope they are able to restore and bring back the original UI of Oxygen into 13. Then thing will be at ease again. Oxygen or Color OS is like Windows Vista or Windows 8.
