The chip looks like a faster Snapdragon 865+ SoC, and debuts with the highest clock speed of any smartphone chip.Jan 20, 2021

Have you people noticed how quickly the Chinese took over manufactures around the world?
It it was 10 yrs ago, many would be skeptic about this kind of move and say the quality would be bad.
Now look today how things have changed.
I think others should be more competitive or else would be like Microsoft's monopoly.

Qualcomm Switching to TSMC Due to Samsung’s Reportedly Low Yield Rate!Qualcomm was said to try its luck with TSMC for mass producing the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus, with a reason given that Samsung’s low yield rate of 4nm wafers forced its hand. This short-term setback also means that fewer Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 shipments would be delivered to customers, and they will certainly be displeased with Qualcomm’s current efforts.TSMC’s 4nm current yield rate is more than 70 percent, making its production higher than Samsung’s, though he did not provide a percentage for the Korean giant.

Make things right!
From today on,whatever people choose buy just choose who made from and made by who!
I just waiting the SD 8Gen1+ made by TSMC start released from May 2022
NOT the SD 8Gen1 from S*msong because is too heat and too more battery consumption and drain.
Qualcomm is too not happy with this and now prefer TSMC

Must be 4nm+
That time sd865 on mi 10 ultra TSMC made Sd865 with 7nm+ technology not like s*msong use self made se865 with their own 7nm, do a research you will know
Everything made from s*msong go heat and heat!
SD865 has two version
One is s*msong another is made by TSMC
TSMC MADE IS 7nm+

Returned my S22 and back to S20. Imagine 2year old S20 has better battery life than new S22!

well, there's all my hope for flagship chips gone. Too much unnecessary power with overheating and inefficient power usage. The dimensity 8000 and 8100 are the only chips coming out this year that I think will be worth upgrading to.

Apple A15 bionic have 6W TDP on 5nm process while this crap has 11W TDP on 4nm like wtf? TDP is supposed to decrease with better manufacturing process, Samsung really need better engineers, Why Qualcomm would give contract to samsung is mind boggling, they should have at least tested some prototypes smh

totally agree. I'm disappointed with Samsung S22, battery life worse than two year old S20 (with snapdragon 865 manufactured by TSMC)

Well, its still going to be debatable whether its a design flaw or manufacturing issue unless we see the reviews of SD 8 Gen 1+ product manufactured by TSMC. Wonder what approach Qualcomm is going to take. Will they going for slight overclocks on the CPU n, or will it be just a manufacturing change and hope the better manufacturing reduces power consumption and performance.
