    Complete nonsense, i can easily run out of performance of my i9 while doing music. Add few heavy vst synths and you are in trouble. Vst synths nowdays are very high CPU of course there is also low CPU synths. But saying it doesn’t take that much and completely crushes the task just says you are propably newbie and do really simple stuffs. The longer you make music the more demanding computer you need, because you are starting to use more of everything as your skills develop and you experimenting new audio plugins. Also if you want to keep your audio latency low it would need who lot more power from your computer.

        Now when it comes to video editing... The high end Apple computers absolutely poop on the competition. The M1 (and derivatives) are purpose built for Mac creative use cases. The M1 / Pro / Max / Ultra all do this extremely well because they were intentionally designed to. I would say if someone wants to use an M1 Mac and doesn't need to do video editing or 3D modeling... Save your money. The base M1 is more than enough for day to day tasks and yes, music production, dj-ing, etc.

        The only thing I find myself wanting on my M1 Air is more RAM (for VMs) because I have the base model. The 16GB version was not worth the price difference. I have 64GB on my Windows desktop so it's not a huge deal.

          As long as you can't play games on it or install Windows, I'm not interested. Is it posible to install Winamp?

            But even with that disadvantage, more than 1 year old AMD Threadrippers and EPYC CPUs beat the hell out of the upcoming M1 Ultra, which will be approximately 2 times the m1 max, so 2x23k points on passmark:
            46k M1 Ultra
            88k EPYC 7763

            Even the lower priced EPYC 7443 reaches 57k points on passmark ($1500)

                    Not dissing Mac or PC. Uses both, myself. Both gave me a real love hate feelings towards them. Nothing is perfect, though finally I use PC as my daily driver.

                                      Ya people need to chill out a little bit.

                                      The maxed out Corsair One i300 costs 4999 with i9-12900K, RTX3080i, 64GB RAM and 2TB SSD. When you take this into consideration, Studio with the same RAM/SSD capacities and the 64-core GPU variant of M1 Ultra hovering at 5399 is quite easily justifiable. In fact, you cannot find a single mini PC or NUC that has a similar chassis volume (The aforementioned i300 is over 3.5 times larger than Studio) and comes with comparable specs, while also equipped with a bunch of hardware-accelerated features specialized for content creators.

                                      Of course building your own PC will always save you some bucks and allows for higher customizability, though that argument applies to not only Mac Studio but most of Windows pre-built towers, and you're clearly not in their target audience if that's your main complaint.

                                        It has no 80gbs/160gbs/320gbs ports. No full higher end 16 bit port, high frame rate 3D 8K (NHK future television spec ports) or newer full 16k which is good for VR footage. We are not getting the maximum.
