Did they just made the camera sensor smaller on this new one? Nothing spells new gen better than lower photographic detail. Lol.

There is literally no need for annual releases. There is simply not enough to change, if anything some companies downgrade YoY.

I hope they go to 2 year release schedule. The whole thing is getting silly (after the S22 fiasco which is barely better than S21)...

Ridiculous...good luck Xiaomi...2022 range is overpriced and all of them are not so superior to pay the difference. Maybe 2022 is Realme time.

Fun times. 1000 euro phone is "more reasonable" and 500 euro phone is "even cheaper".
In my system of coordinates its like
"The ridiculous" for anything above 1000, "the luxury" for 600-1000, "premium (midrange)" for 350-600 and "budget" for anything below that.

A52s can be had in the premium midrange segment. Take s22, you can have a sliiightly better camera (but lose headphone jack) for a price premium that allows you to buy rx100 camera (model 3, I believe). Which takes better pictures and offers actual zoom lens, sans cloud integration. Take ASUS ROG phone - for the difference you can get a Nintendo switch, which is HUGE, imo. Not in size, but the quality of games, compared to Android games. Or a PS5. But that isn't portable. Take s22 ultra with stylus - for the difference with a52s you can get a tablet with a stylus, which is just more convenient.

But that is just my classification, as I prefer spending as little as possible on mobile phone while getting all the things I want (and let's face it - there's NOTHING like a52s at the moment - fast processing, nice camera with OIS, decent screen, high refresh rate, headphone jack, dual speakers, 4 years of updates... what else could you want?)

FatShady, 09 Mar 2022for the price of that note 11 pro+ or whatever its called, ... more...All tech companies are increasing the MSRP of their phones this year...this trend is not exclusive of Xiaomi...at least Xiaomi includes the charger in the box in his flagship phones!!!!!!

Damn, Xiaomi really is targeting the premium tier. Let's see how will develop this big fight they'll have to face with Apple, Samsung and even Sony. I'll think they'll not rise up to the task but who knows, maybe they have a rabbit in the hat. I don't know if Google or Asus can be considered in this category but Oppo, Oneplus and even Motorola tend to rise up there, at least in prices...

They are too pricey for Xiaomi. They might shoot their own feet if that's true. Even Redmi note 11 pro 5g is well pricier than Galaxy A52s.

FatShady, 09 Mar 2022for the price of that note 11 pro+ or whatever its called, ... moreyea u *could* but that's like saying you could get a old flip phone for 1/10 of the price, why would you ever want to? The s20/Fe is outdated, made of inferior materials, doesn't get as much updated, and has 25 watt charging that's slow as a geriatric snail

Lol. I'll buy the S22+. Or wait for the T series with flat screen.

The 12 Pro €1,100 with no IP68 🤣🤣🤣. Seriously. Might as well get an iPhone. And I hate iPhones. But this garbage is even worse

A bit disappointing really, this year all android flagships have nothing new but processor... I mean why would you upgrade from any of 2021 flagships?

iliri, 09 Mar 2022I've been using Xiaomi flagship smartphones for the la... moreAnd given how Xiaomi creates poor package of top spec components with below average results, even Exynos 2200 will most likely be about the same as SD 8 Gen1 in Xiaomi 12... And with terrible software support with Xiaomi, I'd still rather pick Samsung at the end of the day, even with Exynos. Xiaomi thinks they can charge top money for incomplete experience. If they only did good performance and get their s**t together with software and I'd be willing to spend same money as for Samsung or Apple. Not with what they offer now. No way. Xiaomi is forgetting that people were much more forgiving when they got "flagship killer" phone for 500€. When you charge 1000€ for it, not so much.

for the price of that note 11 pro+ or whatever its called, you can buy a used s20 or get a new s20fe, i'm not even to question what the hell are they thinking with mi 12 prices, cause they're clearly not in their right mind.

                              Funny the advertisement of 1-120Hz.
It does not reach 1Hz according to reviews.

Mi 10 Pro is way better than 12x.
Only advantage of 12x is faster storage.

I've been using Xiaomi flagship smartphones for the last 8 years and I was looking forward to purchase Xiaomi 12 (256GB) but these prices (if they turn out to be true) now are just horrible and not worth it. I'll certainly move to Samsung Galaxy S22, since the price for S22 here in Germany seems to be € 150,- less than Xiaomi 12.

                                    The 500 euros redmi note 11 pro+

                                    - old gorilla 5 used by 2017 phones
                                    - usb c 2.0 , when cpu supports 3.1
                                    - cpu that lacks 4K video
                                    - android 11
                                    - 8 and 2 MP rear cameras
                                    - no NFC
                                    - only IP53 (at least better than IP00 of the flagship)

Captain, you really should get one.

A bit on the pricey side especially when it's missing flagship features like 4k 30/60 on the front camera and usb 3.1/3.2
