AnTuTu results for 2021+ flagship Android phones are higher by a larger margin on this test than iPhones are on GeekBench.

Apple wins on feeling snappy in general use and doesn't seem to get as hot in games, but I've noticed battery life problems a lot more on iPhones than Android. Android also wins in customizability, so basically it's a toss-up if you're looking at high-end phones for gaming.

All that said, the SE 2022 will outperform any Android within $100 if not more, so this is going to be my recommendation for phones probably until the next SE model comes out. The SE 2020 did fall off the top of my list when S10e prices hit crazy lows, but there's no small or low-camera-count Android flagship in sight. Maybe the S23 series will surprise me with an "e" or "e+" and then go on a steep discount as well, but I doubt it.

Anonymous, 11 Mar 2022Not an issue if you are using Apple exclusively. 1. MacOS... moreIndeed but as you say, only within an Apple ecosystem. I'm not going to argue about the superiouriy of this ecosystem compared to the Android one as it just is but Android, at least doesn't restrict people on many levels compared to Apple.
SD is still available on more than 95% of Android and the ones who don't are askeng less money for onboard storage, much less!
Again, within the ecosystem of Apple, the transfer of data is just superb and unmatched but sharing with other platform is just crapp as hell and thats just to annoy people.
I'm not going to discuss the price aspect of the goods beceause it comes down to what you want to spend on it so to me any choice is good, as long as you don't stretch your finances, just for the sake of belonging to a group of people.

New updates are resource intensive, old phones are really going to feel the brunt. Eventually, with the experience, you will want to upgrade, which I think what Apple really wants.

Speaking from non fan boy mind, I bought iPhone 8 back in 2017 and I'm still happy with it. I replaced the battery two months ago. For me, phones are tools for communication and I use them for that. I had Realme 8 for couple of weeks but I couldn't digest the low build quality, the size, awful vibration motor etc. When iPhone 8 becomes obsolete I would go for 13 or 13 mini.

Is irrelevant what we gona do with the phone, it doesnt affect me if it has a full packed cpu/gpu if the phone still is cheap.

We as customers dont loose anything, the phone is still cheap and has better performacne than any single android phone

I still find 3GB RAM on iOS is more than good enough for daily use. But then again, I don't game on iOS anyway.

Nickname optional, 11 Mar 2022Lol, and what are you going to do with all that performance... moreIt wouldn't have been cheaper because both A14 and A15 are built on the same TSMC 5nm process, so in the end they probably cost about the same to produce.

The old 2020 SE has A13 which already has more than enough power for this phone, with it's limitations in mind(small screen, small battery-not for serious work), the 2022 refresh is just because there is a demand for a cheap iphone with 5G, it is meant to replace the old version that has no 5G.

Make phone calls and write messages? Using the usual basic apps from Apple doesn't require an A15. Even an A12 is very capable of doing that (Apple TV box has an A12 inside and you can do anything with that, play 4K movies, games on Apple Arcade, without any lag or trouble).
Apple just slapped the A15 inside, to make it more expensive. If they would have used the A14, they could have asked a lower price for it (A14 is a very powerful chipset too). But of course, less profit.
