I'll give apple this: it's interesting that they're still making 16:9 aspect ratio phones with somewhat contemporary specs. Always been pissed off that something like this isn't available in the android market anymore, cause the switch away from 16:9 has been a disaster from my point of view.

As an Apple fan, we do not want the new iPhone barely-improved SE

As an SE 2020 owner, I'm just happy that Apple kept the form factor, meaning there'll be EVEN MORE QUALITY CASES available to us for a good price (especially the UAG ones). Like, when the SE 2020 first launched, retailers just put a sticker on the iPhone 8 cases and sold them for about 50% off...

People, just get the iPhone 13, it costs as much as a decent android cellphone. Here's why.
They have resale value and trade in is high.

Plus, they don't compromise in quality.
Don't get started on Apple limiting performance and all those sht. All manufacturers do that, and infact it's worse in most Android phones. If that's not enough, iPhone is faster than Android phones even WITH power conservative approach.
They lack IP rating, in the case of high end they still feeding customers with low grade aluminum or even plastic.

Just buy an iPhone, trade in, the iphone 13 will cost about the same price of, say, Poco flagship.

It's just funny that when android flagships are getting pricier than iPhones, these idiots compare iPhones to the price of android low range phones and compare the specs of highest end phone. For say, Folding screen+ super zoom + best camera + best battery + sooooo cheap.
Stop it, it's fine if you're only lying to yourself, but your action will affect other buyers as well. Youre just being a coward.

potato4k, 13 Mar 2022Consumers actually don't care about the bezels or smal... moreAh yes, the clueless "Status Quo" guys, they are a very different bunch which indeed care only about the brand value. No, I am not referring them when I pointed the bezels and screen size. I just want to point out the usability of such small screen moving forward in coming years, now that more apps are being designed with the larger screen resolutions of mainstream iPhones. I too like small display phones, I am so passionately and furiously into the "small and compact" form factor phones, like the iPhone 13 / Pro, Pixel 4a, Galaxy S22 etc. I hate having to lug around the Max/Plus/Ultra sizes - tablets are there for a reason, right? However, this 750p display of the latest SE is going to be a pain point because it is the smallest, lowest resolution of the bunch, and apps may have some design issues moving forward couple years down the line, like part of the UI overflowing out of the display.

Anonymous, 14 Mar 202213,5% switching from android seems pretty hefty, especially... moreIs not hefty at all, even for this site. A lot of Android users in emerging markets, have budget Android phones (lets say below 200EUR), which are pretty much useless in the long run. So, I am thinking these people would like to try IOS for the first time. And is only normal, they will not go directly to something like iPhone 13 Pro, lol.
But at 300-400EUR, you can find better alternatives in Android phones. In my country, something like the Realme GT is 310EUR new. Xiaomi 11T is 400EUR. Realme GT Neo 2 360EUR.
No matter how much you hate Chinese phones or do not like their software update policy, nobody can argue those phones are not worth those prices. Even if you keep them just for 1 year, it will be a good year and you will have much better performance, battery, display, charging speeds, than with the iPhone SE3.

The Flip, 13 Mar 2022For $400, I'd rather get a Steam Deck and then buy a $... moreI really don’t get this ‘restrictive’ line, practically any comparison between modern versions of both Android and iOS conducted these days always seems to draw the same conclusions, that both are closer than ever in terms of features.

Well that is if you read professionally produced articles on the topic anyway, A quick look down in the comments sections of said articles will reveal all the fanboys claiming Android cupcake is better than iOS15.

I for one haven’t noticed anything of note that I am unable to do with the iPhones I have had since making switch to iOS pretty much full time. And I had plenty of Androids before that.

I do want to switch from Android to Apple, at least once to try the system and to get a taste of mini ecosystem integration with my iPad. Problem is, that I now own a POCO X3 Pro 8 256. So this specific SE is not for me. The rumoured SE Plus, maybe. And if not, a vanilla 12, or 13 (or in a couple years when I need a new phone) a 14 or even 15. Downgrading from 6.7 to 4.7 inches is too much, from 6.7 to 6.1 not so much.

Campfire, 14 Mar 2022So dumb of me if I upgrade my iphone 12 to this one. So, hell no.Lol, what do you mean upgrade? iPhone 12 is way better than this iPhone SE3.
I had it and it was one of the best experiences I had with a phone in recent times. The only thing that made me change it, was that I needed a phone specifically for heavy gaming (and iPhone 12 is kind of average at battery endurance and charging speeds). And I didn't want a tablet.
But, for normal day to day usage, casual gaming, web browsing, etc. iPhone 12 and 13 are the best iPhones. And they are pretty compact for 2022 standards. I don't understand why some people want this useless iPhone SE3.
But, if I had to predict it, probably it will sell as average as the iPhone Mini series.
Even Apple is starting to pull away from this small phones trend, by releasing an iPhone Max vanilla variant (6.5-6.7"). I think this year with iPhone 14 series, they will do this.

No Android phone so small and powerful at that price as the SE. For a lot of people who like small phones it makes lots of sense. I will get one when my current phone dies out.

Instead of getting new SE, just buy the older SE.
You wont feel the differences in real life.
I used the previous SE and if you can bare with charging at least 2x per day than it's an ok phone.
Well if you dont mind with the phone design and you want to move from Android.
If you are iphone user there's no way you're going to upgrade to SE, no good reasons for that.
But I'll stick with Android, if you want to move to ios and you can only afford SE better stick with Android. I'm still rellying on my Galaxy Note 9 for my daily office task, and only use my iphone 11 pro other than that.
The only people who should buy this SE 2022 are first smartphone users .

I get why Apple sells this.

Perhaps on a spec sheet , yes, android based firms can sell a phone for the same price with a larger battery, Display and added Cameras.

But Apple doesn't have to compete within the mobile phone market which between android firms is considerably more fierce at this price point.

Additionally, I am an iPhone 13 Pro owner, moved away from android 4 years ago yet I've had more to keep me using an iPhone than to move away from it back to android.

The iPhone I've owned, as a consumer, have always met my expectations, something that I can say previous android phones haven't done completely.

The iPhone SE 2022, has few things it can beat the android competition with, however, performance from its A15 and perhaps Main Camera photos and video quality, it will edge them out, if your in the market because you "simply want an iPhone" that meets a more reasonable budget, look no further.
