Germany has lowest VAT at 19% and highest is in Hungary at 27%. At prices of smartphones ranging to 4 digits, it can create huge difference in cost even at single digit % differences.

Me, 18 Mar 2022If we are looking at iphone se 2022 and then saying it has ... moreIf the battery capacity is small then the phone won't really last that long unless you replace it but even then, the storage might just give after a certain years. But that price though, doesn't make that much sense.

OwnFix3, 18 Mar 2022What's the point of power when it doesn't last? Doesn't last how? People had original iPhone 8 for years on original battery. And even replacing it is quite cheap. Since battery is small, it charges rather quickly. So really only issue is if you don't have access to charger at all or you charge it so often you wear out battery way too quickly. But for most people it's still not really an issue.

If we are looking at iphone se 2022 and then saying it has the most advanced chipset in a mobile smartphone and it could easily beat any android flagship then you are not getting the point.iphone se having a15 bionic boesnt mean it could do all the things that an s22 ultra can do, or even an iphone 11 can do. So here a15 bionic is for longevity rather than anything else. People who buy se may stick on to it for many years but still its a bit pricey for what we get

Anonymous, 18 Mar 2022It's in line with EU taxing. US PRICE IN $ = EU PRICE ... moreIt would be hard in US to post all online prices only after you declare your zip code (postal code) because the sale tax is fixed by state gov not federal gov and then they post the price before the tax. Besides like in Europe some people have tax free permissions like a form of benefits due to military, handicap or purchase for a business and some live out of state and correctly should file a use tax return for their tax adjustments so they need to know the price before the tax. In EU tax return (filing) is optional, in US it is mandatory for each year by April 15.

OwnFix3, 18 Mar 2022What's the point of power when it doesn't last? That and also What's the point of power when you have a 4.7" display. Gaming? Watching content? Lol.
They will use all that power for closing and opening social media apps. Lol. Even an A12 chipset does that very well and with insignificant differences.
But, of course, the fanboys need to justify the high price for this phone. And the A15 chipset is the only thing that they can cling on.

The prices are misleading: in USA the price is posted before the tax, in Europe the price is posted after the tax. This is for both online and on the shelf prices, you expect in US to pay more to the store register after they add the tax. Then in US the sale tax is varying from state to state, from 4% to 9%, some states do not have tax at all, in Europe it is per country because a country is a state and it is very high, 18%-21%. So after adding the US tax it is not that much difference but still cheaper in US due to low taxes.

If the price hasn’t increased at least that will make the iPhone SE slightly more viable.

Anonymous, 18 Mar 2022Though the EU pricing really doesn't make any sense. 6... more‘Only makes sense if you want iOS device for as little money possible, even if that means saving just few €.’

And that right there is exactly why it does exist, people can complain on this site all day long about they think the price is too high (and oh boy will they), but the simple truth is that many of them have already professed their view that Apple products suck and wouldn’t pick one up at any price anyway. So listen to them prattling on about the price of this being to high is a hardly note worthy.

Fact is it will sell well. Many won’t like that it does, but that won’t change anything.
