I have high hopes for this Nothing phone. If Carl can replicate what he did with OnePlus in the beginning - reasonably priced high spec phone with fast and stable software and timely software updates, then this phone should be a winner.

this feels exactly like Essential PH1 (PHone), now for change under name Nothing phone 1
let me guess it will be absolutely average phone like any other which we can see already from home screen screenshots, but unlike Google or Samsung phones it will have pretty horrible camera, because independent brand just can't do computational photography without years of experience and huge budget

Oneplus at early stage = flagship phone, High-end specs with clean OS, etc, but affordable price. How about now? sharing parts with oppo, same charger, same design, etc, lately almost share the same OS.
Nothing at early stage = same as above.
Will the history repeat by itself again?

Ecosystem sounds nice, but is another word for scam, expensive, limitation and of course over-hyped.
Maybe Nothing will even introduce their own proprietary charging connector so you can't use a cheaper charger?

I think it will be another brick with glass front and back, maybe aluminum frame, 6.4-6.7 display and no 3.5mm jack and no microSD, just like any 99% of phones out there. But it will have Nothing OS, that for 99% of people it means just 'nothing'.

Personally I prefer the top left hole punch, side mounted capacitive fingerprint sensor, glass back, stock Android software, in a small Pixel 4a like frame. That would be the phone actually worth the money.
