nanagdad, 25 Mar 2022I guess you'll need that "Ice-Skin cooling case f... moreYou are sounding like the sole credit for top notch performance & Efficiency goes to TSMC manufacturing capabilities.
Bro!
The main reason for Apple SoC's performance is its design.
By design itself Apple chips are bound to perform exceptionally balanced with Performance & Efficiency because Apple designs its chips in house & secures best of batches of Top notch process to manufacture them.
With TSMC 4nm Fabrication Qualcomm SD8g1 might perform better than Samsungs made SD8g1 chip but the difference will not be that significant to frive people crazy by its exceptionally improved Thermals & Efficiecy.
So please stop this nonsense of believing that TSMC node will lead SD8g1 to glory again.

nanagdad, 25 Mar 2022I guess you'll need that "Ice-Skin cooling case f... moreLol, people just think because it's ARM and because TSMC made it, it has to be the same. Apple's Bionic chips may use ARM architecture, but they are entirely different than any chip found in any Android phones. The power saving, core arrangement, core count, clocks, caches, interconnection with rest of subsystems like storage/memory, it's all custom design. But people just throw it all in the same bin, ARM is ARM, something something overpriced Apple something something. Yeah, it doesn't work that way.

Mediatek tweaked them on their own, just like Qualcomm does and so does Samsung. Otherwise they'd all have identical performance, yet that's absolutely not the case.

You do realise that the muticore scores will come very close to the D9000 and A15. However... When one combines the improved CPU multicore benchmark score, combined with that A15 beating GPU... Then it's pretty clear (Apart from an expected 30% less than A15 single core score). That the 8 Gen 1+ by TSMC will simply be ahead of the A15.
What I have seen of the A15 gaming with Genshin Impact is appalling. It's frame rate is very bad. Instead of 60fps. It averages at about 43fps and drops even lower than that.
Considering that the 8 Gen 1 (Non plus). Can handle Genshin impact like a breeze... Makes me consider just how good Android SoC's actually are.
GSMArena said that Apple silicon is 2 x generations ahead of android. I would say about half a generation behind... But not in regards to GPU. As snapdragon are ahead. And the CPU on both D9000 and 8 Gen 1+ will rival the A15 so close. It will be hard to distinguish.
Already the 8 Gen 1 is a good SoC. And often quicker than the A15.
In fact I have just ordered the K50 Gaming edition. I currently use a Red Magic. But I am impressed with the K50 Gaming edition and the 8 Gen 1 and D9000 SoC's. I prefer them to the A15 as the GPU is more powerful in the 8 Gen 1. Which is the only SoC that can handle genshin impact at 60 FPS. With zero frame drops. Unlike the A15. Which is a gaming catastrophe.

Great, maybe whiners who complain over Samsung node will finally stfu about it. Because anyone expecting TSMC alone to magically fix power hungry chip is delusional. Then again it won't be directly comparable because you can't just fabricate exactly the same chip in another node, you need to tweak and redesign it to achieve that which can mean lower consumption by itself.

Does the TSMC fabrication helps in efficiency of Power hungry Cortex X2 cores?
