And the old chips are removed from production to make space for the newer, more expensive and more margin. They don't care if a chip is good, what matters is the money they get. So every 6 months we get a "new" chip just to take more money from us.

To ... moreI'm not fully sure what happened with the 780G, although I think the reason why the 860 isn't being used a lot is because the 870, it's successor, is already out (and has been for over a year), and I think companies would rather use that. (860 is an overclocked 855 (2018) which is older, while the 870 is an overclocked 865 (2019) which is newer.)

I wonder what happened to that Snapdragon 780G chipset. To this day, only Xiaomi use it in the Mi 11 Lite 5G. Speaking of Xiaomi as the only user, what happened to the Snapdragon 860 chipset as well? No one ever seems to utilize that particular chipset apart from Xiaomi in the Poco X3 Pro.
